Programming Nanoscale Reaction Environments via Peptide Localization for Gold Nanoparticle Growth in Liposomal Nanoreactors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The liposome nanoreactor method enables uniform metal nanoparticle synthesis using the interior as a reaction environment. We demonstrate that peptide sequences and lipid compositions act as a functional molecular switch to control reaction environments in liposome nanoreactors.

CS-ToF: High-resolution compressive time-of-flight imaging

open access: yesOptics Express, 2017
Three-dimensional imaging using Time-of-flight (ToF) sensors is rapidly gaining widespread adoption in many applications due to their cost effectiveness, simplicity, and compact size. However, the current generation of ToF cameras suffers from low spatial resolution due to physical fabrication limitations.

Kinetics‐Controlled Architecture of Binder‐Free Organic Electrodes for Enhanced Ion Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Pulse reverse electrodeposition controls nucleation and growth to create hierarchically porous Py‐derived oligomeric electrodes with enhanced ionic accessibility and reduced transport resistance. The resulting binder‐free architectures translate these transport advantages into practical sodium‐storage functionality.

Stopping power measurements with the Time-of-Flight (ToF) technique [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 2016
In our review of measurements of the stopping power of ions in matter is presented along with new measurements of the stopping powers of O, Si, Ti, and Au ions in self-supporting thin foils of SiO2, Nb2O5, and Ta2O5. Moreover, a Time-of-Flight system at the Ion Beam Materials Laboratory at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, was used in ...

Photo‐Switchable Molecular Module Programming PET Biodegradation in Aquatic Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We address the plastic durability paradox by integrating an itaconic acid–derived pyrrolidone module into polymer backbones. Sunlight in water triggers Norrish Type I ring‐opening and hydrophilization, enabling rapid biodegradation into nontoxic minerals.

Behavioral Modeling of Photon Arrival Time for Time-of-Flight Measurement Circuit Simulation

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2019
This letter proposes a behavioral model to estimate the statistical photon arrival time for time-of-flight (TOF) measurement circuit simulation. A theoretical model is derived to calculate the photon arrival rate by full consideration of a variety of ...

Photo‐Degradable Polyester Networks and Multi‐Photon Printed Objects Based on Cyclic Ketene Acetals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The current work introduces a photoreversible polyester network derived from radical ring‐opening polymerization of cyclic ketene acetals. It combines photoreversible cross‐linking with initiator‐free multi‐photon printing. Reversible network formation, tunable mechanical properties, and selective degradation highlight its potential as a versatile ...

Oligoethylene Glycol Side‐Chain Engineering of Y6‐Derived Nonfullerene Acceptors for Thermally Induced Spontaneous Pseudo‐Planar Heterojunction Organic Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
OEG‐functionalized Y6‐derived acceptors induce thermally driven vertical phase separation, enabling pseudo‐planar heterojunction organic photodetectors. The resulting PM6:YTEG‐4F and PM6:YTEG‐4Cl organic photodetectors suppress dark current density by approximately 260‐fold and 210‐fold, respectively, while maintaining efficient photoresponse ...
