Detection accuracy and clinical applications of DP-TOF mass spectrometry

open access: yesJournal of International Medical Research
Objective Matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) is currently used in clinical microbiology laboratories. This study aimed to determine whether dual-polarity time-of-flight mass spectrometry (DP-TOF MS)

Poly(Alkoxythiophene) Rod‐Coil Block Copolymers for Organic Electrochemical Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We present the first synthesis of poly(3‐alkoxythiophene) rod‐coil block copolymers as a new architecture for OMIECs. Incorporating PEG and PLLA coils can enhance device performance beyond the homopolymer. The figure‐of‐merit depends uniquely on coil length.

On the Generalizability of Time-of-Flight Convolutional Neural Networks for Noninvasive Acoustic Measurements

open access: yesSensors
Bulk wave acoustic time-of-flight (ToF) measurements in pipes and closed containers can be hindered by guided waves with similar arrival times propagating in the container wall, especially when a low excitation frequency is used to mitigate sound ...

Top-down and middle-down proteomic analysis of Shiga toxin using MALDI-TOF-TOF mass spectrometry

open access: yesMethodsX, 2019
The method describes a step-by-step process for analysis of putative Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) for expression of Shiga toxin (Stx).

Strong Coupling in Bulk Nanoplasmonic Nanoplatelet Perovskite Scintillators

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A bulk scintillating nanocomposite is engineered from CsPbBr3 nanoplatelets and Ag nanocubes to support exciton–plasmon strong coupling under X‐ray excitation. The resulting hybrid polaritonic states appear directly in radioluminescence, opening a route toward polariton‐enabled scintillator design beyond conventional Purcell enhancement.

Ferrocene‐Based Self‐Assembled Monolayers Enable Ultra‐High Specific Detectivity in Perovskite Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We report perovskite photodetectors with record specific detectivities exceeding 1013 Jones with a novel molecular design strategy to functionalize self‐assembled monolayers (SAMs) with ferrocene (Fc) derivatives. Fc‐SAM‐based devices also exhibit strong operational stability and enable data transmission rates exceeding 1 Mbps in a LiFi system ...

Reactivity‐Guided Janus Graphene With Asymmetric Interfacial Electrostatics for Tunable Charge Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Stepwise dual‐side functionalization creates covalent Janus graphene with chemically and electrostatically asymmetric interfaces. The resulting nonadditive surface‐potential response and pronounced charge‐transport modulation demonstrate a versatile route for tailoring the electronic properties of graphene.

Error correction of depth images for multiview time-of-flight vision sensors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2020
The developing time-of-flight (TOF) camera is an attractive device for the robot vision system to capture real-time three-dimensional (3D) images, but the sensor suffers from the limit of low resolution and precision of images.

Exploitation of time-of-flight (ToF) cameras

open access: yes, 2010
This technical report reviews the state-of-the art in the field of ToF cameras, their advantages, their limitations, and their present-day applications sometimes in combination with other sensors. Even though ToF cameras provide neither higher resolution nor larger ambiguity-free range compared to other range map estimation systems, advantages such as ...

Descriptor‐Informed Screening of Interface‐Active Molecules for Efficient Magnesium Metal Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A descriptor‐informed molecular screening strategy identifies 4‐bromo‐N, N‐dimethylaniline (BrNNA) as an interface‐active electrolyte component that enables fast Mg stripping/plating in Mg(TFSI)2‐based electrolytes. By simultaneously regulating Mg2+ solvation and interphase formation, the BrNNA‐containing electrolyte delivers activation‐free Mg ...
