Control of nonlinear time-varying systems

Various approaches to control of systems with time-varying delay
International Journal of Modelling, Identification and Control, 2011The paper is focused on control of single-input single-output (SISO) systems with harmonically time-varying delay. Three different approaches to continuous-time control are presented and compared. The first technique uses a modified PI-PD Smith predictor in combination with standard forms for minimum of integral squared time error (ISTE).

ADAPTIVE CONTROL OF A CLASS OF LINEAR TIME VARYING SYSTEMS
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1983The key contribution of the paper is to develop a new and explicit characterisation of the concept of persistency of excitation for time invariant systems in the presence of possibly unbounded signals. The implication of this result in the adaptive control of a class of linear time varying systems is also investigated.
