Averaging Theory for Delay Difference Equations with Time-Varying Delays

SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1999
A theory of averaging on both finite and infinite time intervals is developed for delay difference equations with time-varying delays. The main results are applied to the adaptive identification of a pipe mixing problem in the presence of time-varying transport delays.

Synchronization of Uncertain Complex Networks with Time‐Varying Node Delay and Multiple Time‐Varying Coupling Delays

Asian Journal of Control, 2017
AbstractThis paper investigates the synchronization problem of a class of complex dynamical networks via an adaptive control method. It differs from existing works in considering intrinsic delay and multiple different time‐varying coupling delays, and uncertain couplings.

On stability properties of time-varying systems with delays

IEEE Conference on Decision and Control and European Control Conference, 2011
We consider several stability properties in the framework of input-to-state stability for time-varying systems with delays. By following a natural approach to convert a time-varying system to an auxiliary time-invariant system, we obtain several results including Razumikhin-type stability criteria, Razumikhin-Lyapunov functions with non-strict decay ...

Teleoperation via Internet with Time-Varying Delay

2006 13th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems, 2006
This paper propose a novel approach for modeling the end-to-end time delay dynamics of the Internet using system identification, and use it for controlling real-time Internet-based telerobotic operations. When a single model is used, it needs to adapt to the operating conditions before an appropriate control mechanism can be applied.

Gradient Extremum Seeking with Time-Varying Delays

2018 Annual American Control Conference (ACC), 2018
This paper presents a gradient extremum seeking algorithm to cope with locally quadratic static maps under time-varying delays. Dealing with non constant delays has a strong impact in the predictor design in terms of the associated transport partial differential equation (PDE) with variable convection speeds as well as the conditions imposed on the ...

Stability of time-varying switched systems with time-varying delay

Nonlinear Analysis: Hybrid Systems, 2009
The author first gives a generalization of Halanay's inequality, and then uses this inequality to obtain sufficient conditions for the stability of the following switched delay system \[ x'(t)=A_{\sigma_i}(t)x(t)+B_{\sigma_i}(t)x(t-\tau(t))+\int_{t_0}^t f_{\sigma_i}(t-s)x(s)ds, \] where \[ x(t)\in \mathbb R^n, A_{\sigma_i}(t), B_{\sigma_i}(t)\in ...

Stability of uncertain systems with time-varying delays

Fifth World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation (IEEE Cat. No.04EX788), 2004
This paper provides a new criterion for robust asymptotical stability of a class of uncertain systems with multiple time-varying delays and nonlinear uncertainties based on LaSalle theorem. Firstly, we gave a contractive invariant set for time-delay systems, and then we derived the condition in which the system would be attracted into this invariant ...

Optimal estimation for systems with time-varying delay

2007 46th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2007
In this paper, the optimal estimation problem for discrete-time systems with time-varying delay in the measurement channel is studied. First, under the assumption that the time-varying delay is of a known upper bound, the single delayed measurement can be rewritten as multiple channel measurements that contain the same state information as the original

The passivity of neural networks with time-varying delay

2019 IEEE Symposium Series on Computational Intelligence (SSCI), 2019
This study addresses the passivity analysis of neural networks with time-varying delay. By constructing an improved Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF) and utilizing some newly integral inequalities, a further sufficient condition for the passivity of the considered system is obtained.
