Inclusion principle for time-varying systems

Proceedings of the 40th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (Cat. No.01CH37228), 2002
The inclusion concept is applied to dynamic time-varying linear continuous-time systems. Starting from general definitions, which include restriction and aggregation as special cases, inclusion conditions are derived. Properties of different inclusion types are discussed.

Demystifying Time Varying Circuits and Systems

2016 29th International Conference on VLSI Design and 2016 15th International Conference on Embedded Systems (VLSID), 2016
An analog/mixed-signal/RF designer encounters time varying circuits everywhere - sample-and-holds, chopper stabilized amplifiers, mixers, switched-capacitor amplifiers and filters, discrete and continuous-time delta sigma modulators, mixers, N-path filters, oscillators : the list is endless.

Stabilization of time-varying Hamiltonian systems

IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, 2006
This paper investigates the stabilization problem of time-varying port-controlled Hamiltonian (PCH) systems through energy-shaping. First, the closed-loop form of a time-varying PCH system (with certain feedback) is embedded into an extended system.

Identification of time-varying Hammerstein systems

1995 International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2002
We consider the identification of systems which are both time-varying and nonlinear. This class of systems is more likely to be encountered in practice, but is often avoided due to the difficulties that arise in modelling and estimation. We attempt to address this problem by considering a new time-varying nonlinear model, the time-varying Hammerstein ...

A complementary view on time-varying systems

ISCAS 2001. The 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.01CH37196), 2002
This contribution is complementary to a previous approach by the authors in that it takes a time-varying mode-vector solution as an a priori assumption. The associated dynamic eigenvalue problem is solved by triangularizing the system equations, again accomplished by successive Riccati transforms.

Time-varying systems and crossed products

Mathematical Systems Theory, 1984
Crossed product algebras are proposed as a framework for the study of input-output properties of linear time-varying systems. It is shown that internally stable systems with bounded continuous coefficients have transfer operators in a crossed product and conversely, that the set of all such transfer operators is dense in a crossed product.

On linear time-varying system characterizations

2009 IEEE International Conference on Electro/Information Technology, 2009
An alternative approach for characterization of linear time-varying (LTV) systems in the time-domain and frequency-domain is developed. The two-dimensional Laplace transform (2DLT) technique for obtaining the response of LTV systems and networks is outlined.

Time-Varying Regular Bilinear Systems

SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 2008
The theory of infinite-dimensional systems introduced and developed by Salamon [Trans. Amer. Math. Soc., 300 (1987), pp. 383-431] and Weiss [SIAM J. Control Optim., 27 (1989), pp. 527-545] has been recently applied for various systems; see, e.g., the Jacob-Partington survey [Current Trends in Operator Theory and its Applications, Birkhauser, Boston ...

Inversion of nonlinear time-varying systems

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1993
Summary: A new procedure for inverting nonlinear systems is proposed, which presents some computational advantages when applied to flexible robot arms or, more generally, to mechanical structures. This procedure is presented in a general setting, for nonlinear time-varying systems.
