Robustness of Time-Varying Systems [PDF]

open access: possibleVolume 1C: 16th Biennial Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise, 1997
Abstract The dynamics of many mechanical systems can be described, or approximated by smooth vector fields in d-dimensional space Rd. External and internal excitations as well as modeling uncertainties are incorporated in the vector fields as families of (time-varying) functions, possibly with their own dynamics.

Time-Varying Systems

SIAM Journal on Control, 1975
Section 1 provides a theory of reachability, observability, minimal realization and duality for time-varying linear systems, using only the basic language of linear algebra. Section 2 uses category theory to show that time-varying dynamics for adjoint processes in a category $\mathcal{K}$ may be defined as ad joint processes in a suitable new category $

Time-varying Lyapunov functions for linear time-varying systems

International Journal of Control, 1986
Abstract Adopting special time-varying Lyapunov-function candidates, it is shown that the Popov criterion ensures large-scale asymptotic stability for linear time-varying feedback systems with relaxed conditions on the time-varying gain fc(t). The main result is that li(t)/k(t) need not be bounded for all finite t and need be bounded only when ibecomes

IDENTIFICATION OF TIME-VARYING FUZZY SYSTEMS

International Journal of General Systems, 1996
This paper discusses the identification of time-varying fuzzy systems. A square-root type recursive algorithm with variable forgetting factor is presented to estimate the parameters of systems. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the performance of the identification algorithm.

REALIZATION ALGORITHM FOR TIME-VARYING SYSTEMS

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1987
Abstract This paper considers the problem of modelling discrete-time multivariable time-varying systems applying the results of stochastic realization theory for real data. A method is given for determining Eee T /of the error process e(t) of Kalman filter/by the output covariance function in an explicite way.

Time-Varying Bilinear Systems

1975
The early results on the realization theory with bilinear internal descriptions have been presented in [1] and [2]. The first one considers zero-state realizations and make essential use of linear (associative) algebraic tools, the second one considers realizations homogeneous in the state, with equilibrium initial state, and uses mainly Lie algebra ...

ANALYSIS OF TIME VARYING SYSTEMS USING TIME VARYING S-TRANSFORMS AND TIME VARYING Z-TRANSFORMS

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2002
Abstract This paper deals with the analysis of continuous and discrete time varying systems using two unusual representations. These representations, based on time varying s-transform and time-varying z -transform notions, prove to be highly efficient in the field of automatic control.
