Nonlinear response of Q-boosting metasurfaces beyond the time-bandwidth limit

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2022
Resonant nanostructures, such as photonic metasurfaces, have created an unprecedented case for enhanced light–matter interactions through local field engineering. However, the presence of resonances fundamentally limits the bandwidth of such interactions.

Bipartite Consensus on Coopetition Networks With Time-Varying Delays

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
In this paper, the bipartite consensus problem is investigated for multiagent systems with second-order dynamics and antagonistic interactions. We consider bipartite consensus under two kinds of protocols.

The extinction probability in systems randomly varying in time

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2017
The extinction probability of a branching process (a neutron chain in a multiplying medium) is calculated for a system randomly varying in time. The evolution of the first two moments of such a process was calculated previously by the authors in a system

An invariance principle for time-varying systems

open access: yes2012 IEEE 51st IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2012
In this paper we propose an invariance principle for time-varying dynamical systems. We first present a novel proof of the Krasovskii-Lasalle invariance principle for forward time using invariance properties of regions of attraction, rather than the invariance property of the limit set.

Quadratic Performance Analysis of Switched Affine Time–Varying Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, 2018
We analyze quadratic performance for switched systems which are composed of a finite set of affine time-varying subsystems, where both subsystem matrices and affine vectors are switched, and no single subsystem has desired quadratic performance.

Metzler asymptotic stability of initial time linear time-varying real-order systems

open access: yesFranklin Open, 2023
Determining the asymptotics of many time-varying systems associated with real orders remains a challenging issue in qualitative asymptotic theory. This paper introduces a new concept of Metzler asymptotic stability to linear time-varying real-order ...

Positivity and stability of fractional descriptor time–varying discrete–time linear systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, 2016
The Weierstrass–Kronecker theorem on the decomposition of the regular pencil is extended to fractional descriptor time-varying discrete-time linear systems. A method for computing solutions of fractional systems is proposed.

Health‐Related Quality of Life and Symptom Severity Among Patients With PIK3CA‐Related Overgrowth Spectrum: A Mixed‐Methods Study to Understand Real‐World Experience With Alpelisib Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background PIK3CA‐related overgrowth spectrum (PROS) includes several rare overgrowth disorders resulting from somatic gain‐of‐function mutations in PIK3CA. Despite treatment advances, including the recent approval of alpelisib for PROS in the United States, literature detailing the patient experience with PROS is limited.

On the stability of nonlinear time-varying systems [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1973
Concerning the absolute stability of a nonlinear time-varying feedback system, an important correction to the results of the author [1] is presented.

Time-varying Lense–Thirring system [PDF]

open access: yesClassical and Quantum Gravity, 2008
We consider bound geodesic orbits of test masses in the exterior gravitational field of a rotating astronomical source whose proper angular momentum varies linearly with time. The linear perturbation approach of Lense and Thirring is herein extended to the nonstationary case.
