Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Mr imaging of the knee at 3t – diagnostic performance and comparison with 1.5t
The range of available magnetic field strengths for clinical knee MRI has expanded over the last 20 years, from below 0.2T to 1.5T, and, recently, 7T.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Light-emitting diodes and photodiodes in the deep ultra-violet range for absorption photometry in liquid chromatography, capillary electrophoresis and gas sensing [PDF]
Absorbance measurement in the deep ultra-violet range (below 300 nm) has been one of the most widely used detection methods for analytical techniques as a large number of organic compounds have strong absorption bands in the deep UV region.

Adolescence remains a crucial age associated with diabetes distress in individuals living with type 1 diabetes (T1D). The Austrian organization “Diabär” regularly hosts a one-week adventure camp for adolescents (12–18 years) living with T1D.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Protein supplementation and 48-hour calf removal effects on range cows
In 1984, 99 Angus X Hereford cows (4- to 6-yr-olds) were assigned randomly to a 4-yr, 2 X 2 factorial study. Treatment assignment was permanent, and no new cows were added during the study.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Phosphorus supplementation of range cows in the Northern Great Plains
Low phosphorus (P) levels in Northern Great Plains rangeland forage combined with limited data on the P requirements of range cows (Bos taurus), precipitated 2 studies conducted to compare the performance of P supplemented and no P supplemented (control)
