ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

VNTR Polymorphisms in the SLC6A3 Gene and Their Impact on Time Perception and EEG Activity
Aim: The research examined the relationship between SLC6A3 3′-UTR and intron 8 VNTR polymorphisms and their influence on supra-second time estimation performance and EEG alpha band activity. Material and methods: A total of 178 male participants (aged 18

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Decision Trees as a Tool for Real-Time Travel Time Estimation on Highways
This paper presents a time travel estimation model based on a decision tree. Input parameter for travel time prediction is occupancy of detectors. The proposed model was tested on the most widely used arterial in Prague and also in the Czech Republic ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Estimating Uncertainty in Time-difference and Doppler Estimates
Sound and radio can be used to estimate the distance between a transmitter and a sender by correlating the emitted and received signal. Alternatively by correlating two received signals it is possible to estimate distance difference. Such methods can be divided into methods that are robust to noise and reverberation, but give limited precision and sub ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Personality, time estimation and time experience
Summary From studies involving several hundred psychiatric patients and control subjects, certain consistent findings emerged with regard to the verbal estimation of 30 (and 20) minute intervals. 1) Control subjects give estimates centering on a figure slightly less than 30 minutes.

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...
