Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

High-Resolution Time-Frequency Methods' Performance Analysis
This work evaluates the performance of high-resolution quadratic time-frequency distributions (TFDs) including the ones obtained by the reassignment method, the optimal radially Gaussian kernel method, the t-f autoregressive moving-average spectral ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Network Traffic Analysis Using Time-Frequency Representations [PDF]
This paper presents some results obtained with time-frequency representations used to identify and analyze network traffic anomalies. The detected anomalies were represented by an increase in certain type of network traffic that was captured using a ...

Multivariate time-frequency analysis
Recent advances in time-frequency theory have led to the development of high resolution time-frequency algorithms, such as the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and the synchrosqueezing transform (SST). These algorithms provide enhanced localization in representing time varying oscillatory components over conventional linear and quadratic time ...

ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

A Time-Frequency Analysis of the Coherences of the US Business [PDF]
The dating of a possible European business cycle has been inconclusive. At this stage, there is no consensus on the existence of such a cycle, or of its periodicity and amplitude, or of the relationship of individual member countries to that cycle.

Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...
