FRENCH EUROSCEPTICISM: HISTORY AND THE PRESENT TIME

open access: yesКонтуры глобальных трансформаций: политика, экономика, право, 2017
The phenomena of euroscepticism in France is analyzed in the paper. The participation of France in key projects of the European construction is examined.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Sculpting History: A Formal Analysis of Michael Stevenson's *The Fountain of Prosperity* (2006)

open access: yesIndex Journal
Art historian Amy Knight Powell has suggested that a key characteristic of form is its temporal “promiscuity.” Reliably unfaithful to its original moment, form is open to de- and re-contextualisation: as it enters into different settings and new liaisons

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Battle flags hanging in Ohio History Center plaza

open access: yes, 1970
Photograph of Ohio's Battle Flag collection hanging in the plaza of the Ohio History Center in Columbus, Ohio, ca. 1970. The flags were displayed on the Center’s plaza level from the time the building opened in 1970 through the late 1980s, when they were

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Time frames. Negotiating Cultural History

open access: yes, 2015
