Feature integration within discrete time windows

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
In order to perceive moving or changing objects, sensory information must be integrated over time. Here, using a visual sequential metacontrast paradigm, the authors show that integration occurs only when subsequent stimuli are presented within a ...

Reaction time and sensorimotor integration in schizophrenia

open access: yesDialogues in Clinical Neuroscience & Mental Health, 2018
The deficit of information processing speed reflected in the increase of reaction time (RT) in sensorimotor speeded decision-making tasks is among the most replicated findings in Schizophrenia.

Anti-Blooming Clocking for Time-Delay Integration CCDs

open access: yesSensors, 2022
This paper presents an investigation of the responsivity of a time-delay integration (TDI) charge-coupled device that employs anti-blooming clocking and uses a varying number of TDI stages.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Fractional integration and cointegration in US financial time series data

open access: yes, 2011
This paper examines several US monthly financial time series data using fractional integration and cointegration techniques. The univariate analysis based on fractional integration aims to determine whether the series are I(1) (in which case markets ...

On the Integration of Space, Time, and Memory [PDF]

open access: yesNeuron, 2017
The hippocampus is famous for mapping locations in spatially organized environments, and several recent studies have shown that hippocampal networks also map moments in temporally organized experiences. Here I consider how space and time are integrated in the representation of memories.

Analysis of the Parareal Time‐Parallel Time‐Integration Method [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, 2007
The parareal algorithm is a method to solve time-dependent problems parallel in time: it approximates parts of the solution later in time simultaneously to parts of the solution earlier in time. In this paper the relation of the parareal algorithm to space-time multigrid and multiple shooting methods is first briefly discussed.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Time Domain Room Acoustic Solver with Fourth-Order Explicit FEM Using Modified Time Integration

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
This paper presents a proposal of a time domain room acoustic solver using novel fourth-order accurate explicit time domain finite element method (TD-FEM), with demonstration of its applicability for practical room acoustic problems. Although time domain

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
