Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Physical limitations on quantum nonlocality in the detection of gamma photons emitted from positron/electron annihilation

open access: yes, 2003
Recent experimental measurements of the time interval between detection of the two photons emitted in positron/electron annihilation have indicated that collapse of the spatial part of the photon's wavefunction, due to detection of the other photon, does

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Precision Test of Mass Ratio Variations with Lattice-Confined Ultracold Molecules

open access: yes, 2007
We propose a precision measurement of time variations of the proton-electron mass ratio using ultracold molecules in an optical lattice. Vibrational energy intervals are sensitive to changes of the mass ratio.

Developing evidence‐based, cost‐effective P4 cancer medicine for driving innovation in prevention, therapeutics, patient care and reducing healthcare inequalities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The cancer problem is increasing globally with projections up to the year 2050 showing unfavourable outcomes in terms of incidence and cancer‐related deaths. The main challenges are prevention, improved therapeutics resulting in increased cure rates and enhanced health‐related quality of life.

High-Efficiency Low-Field Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Measurements with a Monte Carlo Simulation Algorithm

open access: yesChinese Journal of Magnetic Resonance, 2018
Measurements of longitudinal relaxation time (T1), transverse relaxation time (T2), self-diffusion coefficient (D0),T2-T1 and T2-D0 are central in NMR-based oil logging. The SGSE sequence is commonly used to measure D0, in which the interval time between

Review of Sub-Nanosecond Time-Interval Measurements [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 1973
A review of time-interval measurements in the sub-nanosecond regime is presented and the various methods are compared as to their precision, stability, resolution, and other essential parameters. Calibration methods, stabilization, and correction for time walk are also discussed.

Timing subsystem development: Network synchronization experiments [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper describes a program in which several experimental timing subsystem prototypes were designed, fabricated, and field tested using a small network of troposcatter and microwave digital communication links. This equipment was responsible for modem/

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

A time synchronization optimization algorithm based on SharkNet [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences
In distributed measurement and control systems, high-precision time synchronization algorithm is an important guarantee to ensure the correctness of event sequence and data consistency between nodes.
