The Convolution on Time Scales [PDF]

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2007
The main theme in this paper is an initial value problem containing a dynamic version of the transport equation. Via this problem, the delay (or shift) of a function defined on a time scale is introduced, and the delay in turn is used to introduce the convolution of two functions defined on the time scale.

An Equivalence Scale for Time [PDF]

open access: yesSocial Indicators Research, 2000
This article proposes an ‘equivalence scale for time’ by which information on total working time in both paid and unpaid labour can be derived from information about paid working time and household structure. Different scales are offered for males and females, and an adjustment according to year is also provided.

Irreversibility time scale [PDF]

open access: yesChaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, 2006
Entropy creation rate is introduced for a system interacting with thermostats (i.e., for a system subject to internal conservative forces interacting with “external” thermostats via conservative forces) and a fluctuation theorem for it is proved. As an application, a time scale is introduced, to be interpreted as the time over which irreversibility ...

Time scale evolution of avipoxviruses [PDF]

open access: yesInfection, Genetics and Evolution, 2015
Avipoxviruses are divided into three clades: canarypox-like viruses, fowlpox-like viruses, and psittacinepox-like viruses. Several molecular clock and demographic models available in the BEAST package were compared on three avipoxvirus genes (P4b, cnpv186 and DNA polymerase genes), which enabled to determine that avipoxviruses evolved at a rate of 2-8 ...

Crustal evolution events in the Chinese continent: evidence from a zircon U-Pb database

open access: yesInternational Journal of Digital Earth, 2020
The zircon U-Pb chronology database provides a good opportunity to obtain important zircon growth peak periods in the Earth's history so as to study the origin and evolution of the crust.

Further new refinements in h-stability conditions for nonlinear abstract dynamic equations on time scales and applications [PDF]

open access: yesSurveys in Mathematics and its Applications, 2021
In this paper, we study the h-stability problems of some classes of dynamic equations as an extension of exponential stability. We derive some sufficient conditions that guarantee h-stability of perturbed dynamic equations using Grönwall-Bihari and ...

Integrable equations on time scales [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2005
Integrable systems are usually given in terms of functions of continuous variables (on R), in terms of functions of discrete variables (on Z), and recently in terms of functions of q-variables (on Kq). We formulate the Gel’fand-Dikii (GD) formalism on time scales by using the delta differentiation operator and find more general integrable nonlinear ...

Linearization by input–output injections on homogeneous time scales; pp. 387–397 [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Estonian Academy of Sciences, 2014
The problem of linearization by input–output (i/o) injections is addressed for nonlinear single-input single-output systems, defined on a homogeneous time scale.
