Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

A New Varying-Parameter Design Formula for Solving Time-Varying Problems

open access: yesNeural Processing Letters, 2020
A novel finite-time convergent zeroing neural network (ZNN) based on varying gain parameter for solving time-varying (TV) problems is presented. The model is based on the improvement and generalization of the finite-time ZNN (FTZNN) dynamics by means of the varying-parameter ZNN (VPZNN) dynamics, and termed as VPFTZNN.

Robust identification and control with time-varying parameter perturbations [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2003 American Control Conference, 2003., 2004
This paper is dedicated to the identification of parameters for a reasonably large class of nonlinear systems. We propose to design a direct parameter identification method in open loop and an indirect one in closed loop using the variable structure theory. The exponential convergence of parameter identifiers in both cases is studied.

Forecasting the Trend of Macroeconomic Variables in Terms of Financial Conditions Index in Iran: TVP-FAVAR Approach [PDF]

open access: yesبرنامه‌ریزی و بودجه, 2023
Due to the forward-looking nature of economic decisions, forecasting the trend of macroeconomic variables has a fundamental role in economic planning and policies. For this purpose, the present study attempts to extract the financial conditions index for

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Video Painting with Space-Time-Varying Style Parameters [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, 2011
Artists use different means of stylization to control the focus on different objects in the scene. This allows them to portray complex meaning and achieve certain artistic effects. Most prior work on painterly rendering of videos, however, uses only a single painting style, with fixed global parameters, irrespective of objects and their layout in the ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...
