Minimum Time and Minimum Cost-Path Problems in Street Networks with Periodic Traffic Lights
Transportation Science, 2002This paper investigates minimum time and minimum cost path problems in street networks regulated by periodic traffic lights. We show that the minimum time path problem is polynomially solvable. On the other hand, minimum cost path problems are generally NP-hard. Special, realistic cases which are polynomially solvable are discussed.

A method of analytic renormalization is developed to define the three-point time-ordered product of massless fields of exponential type as a strictly localizable distribution. The uniqueness property, known for the two-point T-product, is verified for the three-point product, for a special choice of fine renormalization.

In this article, an optimum range for increasing transport coefficients with respect to the laminar flow condition in the channel of a three-way catalyst is introduced. A mathematical model of a three-way catalyst was first developed. The model is a one-dimensional plug flow model which involves mass and energy equations in gas and solid phases.
