Datalog in Time and Space, Synchronously. [PDF]

open access: possible, 2013
Motivated by recent developments of Datalog-based languages for highly distributed systems [9], in this paper we introduce a version of Datalog: specifically tailored for distributed programming [2] in synchronous settings, along with its operational and declarative semantics.

A CMOS synchronous time amplifier

2013 IEEE 10th International Conference on ASIC, 2013
This paper presents a synchronous time amplifier (TA). The proposed TA has predictable amplification process delay and can be synchronous with a clock signal. The TA is implemented and simulated in 0.18 µm CMOS process. It works with 100 Ms/s under 1-V voltage.

Concurrent systems and time synchronization

International Journal of General Systems, 2018
AbstractIn the majority of scientific fields, system dynamics is described assuming existence of unique time for the whole system. However, it is established theoretically, for example, in relativity theory or in the system theory of time, and validated experimentally that there are different times and time scales in a variety of real systems ...

Temperature Compensated Time Synchronization

IEEE Embedded Systems Letters, 2009
Time synchronization in embedded sensor networks is an important service for correlating data between nodes and communication scheduling. While many different approaches to the problem are possible, one major effect of clock frequency difference between nodes, environmental temperature changes, has often been left out of the solution.

Revisiting Global Time Synchronization

IEEE GLOBECOM 2007-2007 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2007
A comparison between global and local time synchronization when applying beacon mechanism of IEEE 802.11 Time Synchronization Function (TSF) to MANETs (Multi-hop ad hoc network) is presented. The evaluation has been carried out with reference to convergence of time while providing robustness towards mobility and stochastic time-delay.

Internet time synchronization: the network time protocol

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1991
The network time protocol (NTP), which is designed to distribute time information in a large, diverse system, is described. It uses a symmetric architecture in which a distributed subnet of time servers operating in a self-organizing, hierarchical configuration synchronizes local clocks within the subnet and to national time standards via wire, radio ...

Synchronized Recursive Timed Automata

2015
We present synchronized recursive timed automata SRTA that extend timed automata with a stack. Each frame of a stack is composed of rational-valued clocks, and SRTA synchronously increase the values of all the clocks within the stack. Our main contribution is to show that the reachability problem of SRTA is ExpTime-complete. This decidability contrasts

Time synchronization protocol for 6LoWPAN

2013 International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communications and Informatics (ICACCI), 2013
The future is seen as place where all perceivable objects will have a layer of digital connectivity. The concept of Internet of Things involves connecting devices embedded with microcontrollers such as sensors to IP based networks. 6LoWPAN is a new set of standard for IPv6 connectivity over such low power wireless personal area networks.

Timing measurements of synchronization circuits

Ninth International Symposium on Asynchronous Circuits and Systems, 2003. Proceedings., 2003
A regular (two-flop) synchronizer and six multi-synchronous synchronizers are implemented on a programmable logic device and are measured. An experimental system and method for measuring synchronizers and metastable flip-flops are described. Two separate settling time constants are shown for a metastable flop, confirming earlier results of Dike and ...

Time Synchronization in SpaceFibre Networks

2021 28th Conference of Open Innovations Association (FRUCT), 2021
Real-time requirements are actual for most aerospace systems. Time synchronization in all network devices needs for implementation of real-time mechanisms. The SpaceFibre standard is developed for aerospace networks. But current version of this standard does not include any time synchronization mechanism. In this paper, we consider time synchronization
