A Method for Seasonally Adjusting Time Series With Variation in the Seasonal Amplitude
Journal of Business & Economic Statistics, 1986The official seasonally adjusted figures of the unemployment series in the Netherlands proved to be unsatisfactory in the years 1976 until 1980 because of the occurrence of a residual seasonal pattern in the adjusted series. There is indication that this failure is due to the presence of variations in the seasonal amplitude of the unemployment series ...

A simple method for the study of variation of boundary tension with time
Proceedings of the Indian Academy of Sciences - Section A, 19521. A new method for the determination of variation of interfacial and surface tensions with time, has been described. In this method, the advantages of the pendant drop method are combined with those of the drop weight method, thus simplifying the experimental technique.

A new method to estimate time variation in the NAIRU [PDF]
NAIRU estimates are obtained from estimates of the Phillips curve – the relationship between the inflation rate on the one hand, and the unemployment rate, measures of inflationary expectations and variables representing supply shocks on the other.

In a preventive vaccine efficacy trial of a vaccine for a genotypically and phenotypically diverse pathogen, it is important to assess if and how vaccine protection against infection or disease varies with characteristics of the exposing pathogen. Gilbert, Self and Ashby developed statistical methods for this problem when the outcome data are counts of

A new method to estimate time variation in the NAIRU - comments [PDF]
In order to avoid writing a comment that may turn out to be irrelevant the author has therefore decided to comment less directly on what Bill says, and focus instead on the problem that Bill has posed and discuss some thoughts on how to go about modeling it.
