Adherence to Protocol Recommendations for Children With Wilms Tumour in Two Consecutive Studies in the United Kingdom and Ireland—Does Variation Matter?

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Wilms tumour (WT) has excellent event‐free and overall survival (OS). However, small differences exist between countries participating in the same international study. This led us to examine variation in adherence to protocol recommendations as a potential contributing factor.

Response Relationship Between Runoff and Meteorological Drought and Flood Characteristics in Jialing River Basin [PDF]

open access: yes长江科学院院报
[Objective] Most existing studies on the response relationship between runoff variations and meteorological drought and flood characteristics focus on annual, seasonal, monthly, or weekly scales.

A discrete time method to the first variation of fractional order variational functionals [PDF]

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2013
Abstract The fact that the first variation of a variational functional must vanish along an extremizer is the base of most effective solution schemes to solve problems of the calculus of variations. We generalize the method to variational problems involving fractional order derivatives.

Sirolimus for Extracranial Arteriovenous Malformations: A Scoping Review of the Evidence in Syndromic and Non‐Syndromic Cases

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare, high‐flow, vascular anomalies that can occur either sporadically or as part of a genetic syndrome. AVMs can progress with serious morbidity and even mortality if left unchecked. Sirolimus is an mTOR inhibitor that is effective in low‐flow vascular malformations; however, its role in AVMs is unclear.

An Orbital Stability Study of the Proposed Companions of SW Lyncis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We have investigated the dynamical stability of the proposed companions orbiting the Algol type short-period eclipsing binary SW Lyncis (Kim et al. 2010).

Evaluating the Utility of Paired Tumor and Germline Targeted DNA Sequencing for Pediatric Oncology Patients: A Single Institution Report

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the diagnostic yield and utility of universal paired tumor–normal multigene panel sequencing in newly diagnosed pediatric solid and central nervous system (CNS) tumor patients and to compare the detection of germline pathogenic/likely pathogenic variants (PV/LPVs) against established clinical referral criteria for cancer ...

Integrated Study of X-Ray Spectrum and Time Lags for HBL Mrk 421 within the Framework of the Multiple-zone Leptonic Model

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present the timing analysis of 10 archived XMM-Newton observations with an exposure of >40 ks of Markarian 421. Mrk 421 is the brightest high-frequency-peaked BL Lac object emitting in X-rays produced by electrons accelerated in the innermost regions ...

Variation of Lyapunov′s Method for Dynamic Systems on Time Scales

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1994
The authors consider a dynamical system on a general time scale. This formulation unifies the standard treatment for continuous time and discrete time systems. Based on a well known comparison principle, the authors obtain a comparison theorem which makes use of Lyapunov functions.
