Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

Process for making a noble metal on tin oxide catalyst [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
A quantity of reagent grade tin metal or compound, chloride-free, and high-surface-area silica spheres are placed in deionized water, followed by deaerating the mixture by boiling and adding an oxidizing agent, such as nitric acid.

Synthesis of sub-5 nm Co-doped SnO$_2$ nanoparticles and their structural, microstructural, optical and photocatalytic properties

open access: yes, 2013
A swift chemical route to synthesize Co-doped SnO$_2$ nanopowders is described. Pure and highly stable Sn$_{1-x}$Co$_x$O$_{2-\delta}$ (0 $\le$ x $\le$ 0.15) crystalline nanoparticles were synthesized, with mean grain sizes < 5 nm and the dopant element ...

RAMAN SCATTERING IN NANOSCALE TIN DIOXIDE

open access: yesPhotoelectronics, 2015
The Raman scattering spectra peculiarities are analyzed for nanosized samples of tin dioxide using the authors’ own research and the available literature. The presented results show the series of differences in RS spectra in the nanoobjects in comparison with the bulk material. The principle peculiarities comprise: the broadening of peaks, the spectra ‘

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

Development of Conductive Coatings for Gas-Sensitive Tin Dioxide Film Layers [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал нано- та електронної фізики, 2014
For large-scale application of gas sensors based on tin dioxide films it is necessary to reduce the cost of such devices. This is possible by using aluminum films as conductive coatings. Therefore, the influence of the operating conditions on the surface

Sensing low concentrations of CO using flame-spray-made Pt/SnO2 nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Tin dioxide nanoparticles of different sizes and platinum doping contents were synthesized in one step using the flame spray pyrolysis (FSP) technique. The particles were used to fabricate semiconducting gas sensors for low level CO detection, i.e.

Effect of Oxygen Content on Surface and Subsurface Integrity During Turning of Ti–6Al–4V

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how oxygen content in the ambient atmosphere affects the surface and subsurface properties of Ti–6Al–4V during turning. Results show that oxygen does not influence surface roughness. However, machining in an extremely high vacuum‐adequate atmosphere increases surface hardness by up to 7.8% and induces compressive residual stresses ...
