Three TiO2 loaded composites, TiO2/kaolin, TiO2/diatomite, and TiO2/zeolite, were prepared in order to improve the solar-light photocatalytic activity of TiO2. The results showed that the photocatalytic activity could obviously be enhanced by loading appropriate amount of inorganic mineral materials.

TiO2, TiO2/Ag and TiO2/Au photocatalysts prepared by spray pyrolysis
Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2011Abstract TiO 2 , TiO 2 /Ag and TiO 2 /Au photocatalysts exhibiting a hollow spherical morphology were prepared by spray pyrolysis of aqueous solutions of titanium citrate complex and titanium oxalate precursors in one-step. Effects of precursor concentration and spray pyrolysis temperature were investigated.

Photocatalytic activity of Cu2O/TiO2, Bi2O3/TiO2 and ZnMn2O4/TiO2 heterojunctions
Catalysis Today, 2005Abstract Cu 2 O/TiO 2 , Bi 2 O 3 /TiO 2 and ZnMn 2 O 4 /TiO 2 heterojunctions were studied for potential applications in water decontamination technology and their capacity to induce an oxidation process under VIS light. UV–vis spectroscopy analysis showed that the junctions-based Cu 2 O, Bi 2 O 3 and ZnMn 2 O 4 are able to absorb a large part of

Abstract The TiO 2 /Skeleton, TiO 2 /Dens and TiO 2 /HAP composites were prepared by sol–gel method. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) were carried out to characterize them. Their photocatalytic activities were evaluated by degradation of Acid Red B under solar light irradiation. The results showed that the photocatalytic

All available thermodynamic and phase diagram data have been critically assessed for all phases in the MnO-TiO2, MgO-TiO2, FeO-TiO2, Ti2O3-TiO2, Na2O-TiO2, and K2O-TiO2 systems at 1 bar pressure from 298 K to above the liquidus temperatures. All reliable thermodynamic and phase diagram data have been simultaneously optimized to obtain, for each system,

TiO2 nanofibers embedding single crystalline TiO2 nanowires
Journal of Sol-Gel Science and Technology, 2011Epitaxially grown titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanofibers embedding single crystalline TiO2 nanowires (NWs) were successfully fabricated by electropinning poly(vinyl pyrrolidone)/ethanol solutions mixed with hydrothermally synthesized TiO2 NWs and titanium isopropoxide precursors and subsequently calcinating the electrospun nanofibers.

Abstract Sm 3+ doped TiO 2 nanocrystals with various morphologies were fabricated via a facile hydrothermal route, and the effect of morphology on the luminescence properties and photocatalytic activity of the products has been investigated. PL studies on TiO 2 :Sm 3+ revealed that the sensitized emission is a much more efficient pathway than the ...

Surface Acidity and Photocatalytic Activity of TiO2, WO3/TiO2, and MoO3/TiO2 Photocatalysts
Chemistry of Materials, 1994TiO[sub 2] powder samples were calcined at various temperatures and their photocatalytic activity toward the degradation of 1,4-dichlorobenzene was measured. The surface acidity of the sample was also determined by the n-butylamine titration method. A linear relationship between photocatalytic activity and surface acidity was observed for the TiO[sub 2]

Study of TiO2 nanocrystallites in TiO2SiO2 composites
Colloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects, 1998Abstract A titania-silica nanocomposite system with six different compositions (10/90, 20/80, 40/60, 50/50, 60/40, 80/20 molar ratio of TiO2/SiO2) was prepared by a sol-gel method. Different experimental techniques such as XRD, TEM, EDAX, DTA and density measurements by Archimedes' method were used to characterize each composition.
