Tip Leakage Losses in a Linear Turbine Cascade [PDF]
An investigation of tip leakage flow and its effects on loss production was performed on a large-scale linear turbine cascade having a tip gap measuring 2.1 percent of the blade height. The flow exiting the tip gap was measured to determine the losses incurred within the tip gap and the secondary kinetic energy due to tip leakage.

A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...

Blade scale effects of tip leakage [PDF]
October 1990Includes bibliographical references (leaves 43-44)The effects of blade-tip leakage in a turbine are investigated by modeling the stage as an incomplete actuator disk. It is found that the spanwise flow redistribution due to the gap is such as

Control of Tip Leakage in a High-Pressure Turbine Cascade Using Tip Blowing [PDF]
Blowing from the tip of a turbine blade was studied experimentally to determine if total pressure loss could be reduced. Experiments were done with a linear cascade in a low-speed wind tunnel. Total pressure drop through the blade row and secondary velocity fields in the passage between two blades were measured.

Tip Leakage Flow in a Linear Turbine Cascade [PDF]
An experimental and analytical study of flow in the tip clearance gap of a linear turbine rotor blade cascade has been performed. Measurements of wall static pressures and flow velocities are used to verify a flow model involving a vena contracta, near the tip gap entrance, followed by flow mixing to fill the gap. A frequently referenced potential flow
