Management of Thrombocytopenia in Advanced Liver Disease
Thrombocytopenia (defined as a platelet count <150×109/L) is a well‐known complication in patients with liver cirrhosis and has been observed in 76% to 85% of patients. Significant thrombocytopenia (platelet count <50×109/L to 75×109/L) occurs in approximately 13% of patients with cirrhosis.

Multiscale numerical schemes for kinetic equations in the anomalous diffusion limit [PDF]
We construct numerical schemes to solve kinetic equations with anomalous diffusion scaling. When the equilibrium is heavy-tailed or when the collision frequency degenerates for small velocities, an appropriate scaling should be made and the limit model ...

ABSTRACT The Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes) can be hunted as a game species. It may also be listed as a “species likely to cause damage” (ESOD – the acronym in French), for public health reasons among others. Conversely, benefits linked to the presence of foxes are also put forward, such as the predation of rodents carrying zoonotic agents.

BACKGROUND: Systemic approaches are needed to understand how variations in the genes associated with opioid pharmacokinetics and response can be used to predict patient outcome. The application of pharmacogenetic analysis to two cases of life‐threatening opioid‐induced respiratory depression is presented.

A Suite of Pathogens Detected in Ticks Sampled From Wildlife Hosts in Central Kenya
ABSTRACT Opportunistic sampling of ticks from animals during veterinary treatment offers important insights about wildlife exposure to pathogens. Here, we report pathogens and other tick‐borne organisms detected in ticks sampled from 10 animal species in and near Laikipia County, Kenya, in 2014–2016.
