Development of a tire model based on an analysis of tire strain obtained by an intelligent tire system

International Journal of Automotive Technology, 2015
Tires perform important roles, such as supporting weight and generating forces during accelerating or braking. However, the direct acquisition of valuable data from tires is limited because of the nonlinearity and complex composition of tires. Recently, an intelligent tire system was developed to obtain tire-related variables directly from tire strain.

Tire Lateral Force Modeling and the Bushing Analogy Tire Model

Tire Science and Technology, 2005
Abstract The Bushing Analogy Tire (BAT) model has been studied for tire dynamics modeling in vertical and lateral directions. It was shown that the vibration characteristics included in the BAT model in the vertical and lateral directions cover the tire modes in those directions up to about 100 Hz.

Tire Modeling for Model Validation

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2004
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Recently, in the automotive industry the usage of CAE models in the development of a product has grown significantly. Virtual models allow the auto makers to speed up the programs and also to predict desired characteristics of the product.</div> <div class="htmlview paragraph">However in order to build ...

Motorcycle Tire Modeling

Volume 3: 17th International Conference on Advanced Vehicle Technologies; 12th International Conference on Design Education; 8th Frontiers in Biomedical Devices, 2015
The knowledge of the actual distribution of the contact forces transmitted by the tire to the rim is of crucial importance for the lightweight design of motorcycles wheels. In this paper, an analytical model of a motorcycle tire is developed and explicit formulae giving the distribution of the static radial and axial forces acting ...

Analytical Model of Tire Cavity Resonance and Coupled Tire/Cavity Modal Model

Tire Science and Technology, 2000
Abstract The acoustic resonance of the air cavity in the tire/wheel assembly may be a contributor to vehicle interior noise through the structure‐borne noise transmission path. This problem has been examined in the past using approximate closed form solutions (based on plane wave theory for a two‐tube model) and numerically, using FEA.

Tire Characteristics and Modeling

2018
Tires are the interface between vehicle and road. The forces and moments generated by the tires determine the motion of a road vehicle. Dedicated tire tests provide insight in these forces and moments and their dependency on slip, inclination angle and vertical force.

Kinetic Modeling of Scrap Tire Pyrolysis

Energy & Fuels, 1999
In this paper we have studied the kinetics of the thermal decomposition of scrap tire using nonisothermal thermogravimetric methods. Experiments were carried out over the temperature range of 20−600 °C at different heating rates and with various powder sizes.

Tire Rolling Kinematics Model for an Intelligent Tire Based on an Accelerometer

Tire Science And Technology, 2020
ABSTRACT The idea of intelligent tires is to develop a tire into an active perception component or a force sensor with an embedded microsensor, such as an accelerometer. A tire rolling kinematics model is necessary to link the acceleration measured with the tire body elastic deformation, based on which the tire forces can be identified ...

Feel-tire Unina: Development and Modeling of a Sensing System for Intelligent Tires

2019 IEEE 5th International forum on Research and Technology for Society and Industry (RTSI), 2019
In recent years, a great deal of research has been devoted to develop intelligent tire concepts, aiming at increasing the effectiveness of the active safety system of ground vehicles. There are several areas of improvement regarding intelligent tires; among them, the possibility of correlating information provided by sensors with tire dynamics. However,

TIRE WEAR MODEL

1969
Abstract : Recent studies on tire wear reveal the importance of mechanochemical processes in highly elastic polymers. Mechanical cleavages of macromolecules have been found to play a very important role, since the free macroradicals formed promote the beginning of complex chemical chain processes, leading ultimately to a profound change in the ...
