Brush tire model with increased flexibility
2003 European Control Conference (ECC), 2003This article covers a method to make the description of the force-slip curve generated by the brush tire model more flexible. A calibration factor is applied to make the slope more or less convex. The main use is in car applications where road friction estimation is a major issue.

Estimation of Tire-Road Friction Using Tire Vibration Model
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2002<div class="htmlview paragraph">In this paper, a friction estimation method using a tire vibration model is proposed. It is based on the frequency characteristics of the wheel speed vibration which are related to the tire-road friction. The recursive least squares and the instrumental variable method are applied for online estimation.

Tire–pavement interaction modelling: hyperelastic tire and elastic pavement
Road Materials and Pavement Design, 2016The interaction between deformable tire and pavement was studied using the validated finite element model; the full understanding of tire–pavement contact has implications for pavement damage prediction and pavement life-cycle assessment (fuel consumption estimation).

Abstract Tire abrasion arises due to slip in the contact of the tread with the road, and so it is closely related to the conditions of the road surface and weather. An attempt at phenomenological modeling of the treadwear process has been presented.

Tire-soil interaction model for turning (steered) tires
Journal of Terramechanics, 1986Abstract A review of the experimental information on the development of lateral forces on tires traveling at an angle to their center plane is presented and the usefulness of the consideration of the lateral forces for the development of an analytical model is evaluated.

This Section introduces the area of tire modelling with a focus on the modelling of tire behavior to support the simulation of vehicles both on-road and off-road. For on-road work the emphasis is on empirical models, for off-road work the emphasis is on the physical modelling of the tire.

Tire Modeling for Misuse Situations
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2001<div class="htmlview paragraph">This article describes the current state of the art in tire/suspension system misuse simulation, with particular attention to finite element tire modeling for severe impact situations. One such finite element tire model, developed in the PAMCRASH environment, is described and it's static performance discussed in ...

Longitudinal Tire Dynamics Model for Transient Braking Analysis: ANCF-LuGre Tire Model
Journal of Computational and Nonlinear Dynamics, 2015In this investigation, the flexible tire model based on the absolute nodal coordinate formulation (ANCF) is integrated with LuGre tire friction model for evaluation of the longitudinal tire dynamics under severe braking scenarios. The ANCF-LuGre tire model developed allows for considering the nonlinear coupling between the dynamic structural ...

This paper presents the numerically modeled multiphase flow of a splash phenomenon generated by a wheel traveling at relatively low speeds through shallow water depths. The flow of interest is complex and involves effects of free surface dynamics and formation of large-scale droplets.
