A Dynamic Tire Model for ABS Maneuver Simulations

open access: yes, 2010
Due to the dimensions of the tire-road contact area, transients in a tire last approximately 0.1 s. Thus, in the case of abrupt maneuvers such as ABS braking, the use of a steady-state tire model to predict the vehicle’s behavior would lead to ...

Parameter Identification of Running Tire for Straddle-type Monorail Vehicle

open access: yes机车电传动, 2017
Magic formula tire model can describe the tire characteristic accurately. In order to get Magic formula tire model of the running tire, the paper used the combination method of Tire Data Fitting Tool module and genetic algorithm to identify the magic ...

Investigating the Effect of Tractor’s Tire Parameters on Soil Compaction Using Statistical and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) Methods

open access: yesAgriculture, 2023
Many factors contribute to soil compaction. One of these factors is the pressure applied by tires and tillage tools. The aim of this study was to study soil compaction under two sizes of tractor tire, considering the effect of tire pressure and traffic ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

PANoptosis in the pathogenesis of myelodysplastic syndromes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PANoptosis, a combination of three types of programmed cell death, is mediated by a large protein complex called a PANoptosome. In healthy bone marrow hematopoietic cells, PANoptosis is restricted by inhibitory signaling. In MDS, bone marrow cells become sensitive to the PANoptotic stimuli due to the aberrant inactivation of inhibitory signaling or ...

Tire cord shape influence on stresses using a micromechanics model

open access: yes, 2000
This paper investigates the influence of cord shape in cord-rubber composites using a three-dimensional micromechanical model. The micromechanical model integrates a solid rubber finite element with a twisted cord finite element that takes into account ...

From patient advocacy to patient‐driven research: Building active partnerships beginning at the bench to reach the bedside

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Research is strongest when conducted alongside patients, not just about them. Patient research organizations help integrate patient perspectives into research priorities, study design, and scientific meetings, leading to meaningful patient outcomes and development of relevant therapies.

The Role of Calcitonin Gene‐Related Peptide in High‐Altitude Headache: A Prospective Field Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective High‐altitude headache (HAH) is a common neurological condition associated with rapid ascent to high altitude. The pathophysiological mechanisms underlying HAH remain incompletely understood. Calcitonin gene‐related peptide (CGRP), a neuropeptide implicated in migraine pathophysiology, may play a key role in the pathophysiology of ...
