Atmospheric Water Harvesting Through Polymer Hydrogel Sorbents: Materials Chemistry, Design Strategies, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Polymer‐based hydrogels have emerged as promising materials for atmospheric water harvesting (AWH) due to their high water affinity, tunable network structure, and excellent moisture adsorption‐desorption performance. Functional hydrogel systems enable efficient water capture and controlled release under low‐energy conditions, offering a sustainable ...

Targeting the PHB2–ACSL3 Lipid‐Remodeling Axis Overcomes Cisplatin Resistance by Restoring Ferroptosis in Gastric Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Platinum‐based chemotherapy resistance remains a major obstacle in gastric cancer (GC) treatment. Through integrated transcriptomic profiling of cisplatin‐resistant xenografts and pharmacogenomic interrogation of the NCI‐60 dataset, we identified Prohibitin‐2 (PHB2) as a previously unrecognized determinant of chemoresistance.

Macrophage PABPC4‐SPP1 Axis Orchestrates Immunosuppression in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the CRC microenvironment, macrophage PABPC4 binds to the 3′UTR of SPP1 mRNA to stabilize its expression, thereby sustaining M2‐like immunosuppressive macrophage polarization. Concurrently, this axis suppresses CD8+ T cell effector functions via CD44 signaling, collectively fostering an immunosuppressive niche that drives tumor progression.

Dual pKa Lipid Nanoparticles for Lung‐tropic mRNA Delivery and pH‐Programmed Endosomal Escape

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lipid nanoparticles’ bottleneck lies in low endosomal escape efficiency and liver‐dominant delivery after intravenous administration. To overcome these limitations, we present a stepwise pH‐programmed lipid nanoparticle system enabled by our newly synthesized ionizable lipid.

MOF‐Derived Cu‐TiO2/Alginate Micromotors for Buoyancy‐Regulated 3D Motion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, cyanobacteria‐inspired sodium alginate (SA)/Cu‐TiO2/Fe3O4 hydrogel micromotors generate and encapsulate O2 microvesicles upon light irradiation, enabling buoyancy‐mediated Z‐axis upward migration and surface enrichment at the light‐exposed water‐air surface.

Carbohydrate‐Mediated Cellular Uptake of Boronic Acid Hybrids In Cellulo and Insulin‐Deficient Zebrafish: Live Imaging and Application of Multiphoton FLIM

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Boronic acid‐based fluorescent hybrids have been used as part of a versatile platform for real‐time metabolic bioimaging across cellular and organismal scales. Including glucose‐responsive imaging in living cells and in an insulin‐deficient vertebrate model, this work opens new opportunities for the development of precision diagnostics, metabolic ...

A Noncontact Skin Oxygen-Saturation Imaging System for Measuring Human Tissue Oxygen Saturation

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2014
The oxygen saturation (SpO 2 ) of human tissue can be measured and the SpO 2 distribution diagram can be built by irradiating the tissue with two wavelengths of light-red (660 nm) and near-infrared [(NIR) 890 nm]. In this paper, two analysis methods are employed to calibrate the measurement accuracy of skin oxygen-saturation imaging (SOSI) system ...

Oxygen Saturation or Tissue Oxygen Determinations on Skin Whose Viability is at Risk

The International Journal of Lower Extremity Wounds, 2023
The triad of ischaemia, neuropathy, and infection are among the principal causes of lower extremity wounds that are commonly prevalent in patients with diabetic foot (DF) a condition in which peripheral arterial disease commonly co-exists. The prevalence of this condition is increasing globally and with it, the mounting costs of its management.

Tissue oxygen saturation levels from fetus to neonate

Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Research, 2017
AbstractAimOxygen saturation during the term of delivery to the first cry, when fetal circulation dynamically changes, has not yet been examined. The aim of this study was therefore to determine whether the continuous measurement of regional tissue oxygen saturation (rSO2) from crowning until 5 min after delivery is possible using fetal tissue oximetry

Optical Measurement of Tissue Oxygen Saturation

The International Journal of Lower Extremity Wounds, 2002
Advances in opto-electronic systems have meant that optical spectroscopy can now be used for noninvasive measurements in tissue in patients. A number of techniques have evolved over the last 15 years that make use of the characteristic differences in the absorption spectrum of deoxygenated and oxygenated hemoglobin to measure ...
