Tissue oxygen saturation in dogs with acute hemorrhage

Journal of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, 2018
AbstractObjectiveTo evaluate initial tissue hemoglobin oxygen saturation (StO2) in dogs presenting to an emergency room (ER) for acute hemorrhage.DesignProspective, observational study.SettingUniversity veterinary teaching hospital.AnimalsThirty‐eight dogs with acute hemorrhage were enrolled between July 2009 and October 2010. Seventy‐eight normal dogs

Tissue oxygen saturation for the risk stratification of septic patients

Journal of Critical Care, 2013
Peripheral tissue oxygen saturation (Sto2) has shown promise as an early indicator of tissue hypoperfusion and as a risk stratification tool in various forms of shock. The purpose of this study was to determine if Sto2 would predict admission to an intensive (ICU) or progressive care unit in patients with early signs of sepsis. In this prospective ...

Measuring Tissue Oxygen Saturation via Spectrometer in Children

Journal of Trauma: Injury, Infection & Critical Care, 2010
: Near-infrared spectroscopy is a new noninvasive method of monitoring oxygen saturation at a tissue level. The purpose of this study was to evaluate new near-infrared tissue spectrometer InSpectra (Hutchinson Technology Inc.) in children and to determine preferable areas of the body to measure tissue oxygen saturation (StO2).: Prospective study at a ...

Diffuse reflectance spectroscopy for the measurement of tissue oxygen saturation

Physiological Measurement, 2015
Tissue oxygen saturation (StO2) is a useful parameter for medical applications. A spectroscopic method has been developed to detect pathologic tissues, due to a lack of normal blood circulation, by measuring StO2. In this study, human blood samples with different levels of oxygen saturation have been prepared and spectra were acquired using an optical ...

Measuring tissue oxygen saturation using NIR spectroscopy

SPIE Proceedings, 2014
Tissue oxygen saturation (StO2) is known quite useful parameter for medical applications. A spectroscopic method has been developed to diagnose pathologic tissues due to lack of normal blood circulation by measuring tissue oxygen saturation. In the study, human blood samples with different level of oxygen saturations have been prepared and spectra were

Tissue Oxygen Saturation and Outcome after Cardiac Surgery

American Journal of Critical Care, 2011
Cardiopulmonary bypass during cardiac surgery can result in a shortfall in oxygen delivery relative to demand, marked by a decrease in muscle tissue oxygen saturation as blood flow is redistributed to vital organs. Such "tissue shock" might impair postoperative recovery. To determine the association of changes in tissue oxygen saturation with ...

A new oxygen saturation images of iris tissue

2010 IEEE Sensors, 2010
Oxygen saturation is an indicator of oxygen transport in the body, and indicates if sufficient oxygen is being supplied to the body, especially to the skin and surface. Based on a new proposed algorithm of NIR image correction of the arterial oxygen saturation (SpO2), we have developed a two-dimensional oxyhemoglobin saturation measurement which is ...

Hyperspectral Algorithm for Mapping Tissue Oxygen Saturation

Proceedings of the 7th Nordic Signal Processing Symposium - NORSIG 2006, 2006
A simple algorithm based on computational estimates of spectral feature amplitudes in hyperspectral images is described for mapping oxygen delivery in tissue. Features are determined from contiguous image bands spanning the prominent absorption wavelengths of hemoglobin. Pixel values along the z-axis at each image coordinate establish a spectral curve.

Algorithms for estimating oxygen saturation in biological tissues

Journal of Communications Technology and Electronics, 2006
A noninvasive technique for estimating the venous-blood oxygenation averaged within one period of a pulse wave is developed, and a method for determining the oxygen utilization in tissues from the difference between oxygenation levels of arterial and venous blood is elaborated.

Relation of cerebral tissue oxygenation index to central venous oxygen saturation in children

Intensive Care Medicine, 2004
To evaluate the relationship between the cerebral tissue oxygenation index measured by near-infrared spectroscopy and central venous oxygen saturation (SvO2) after corrective surgery of congenital heart defects in children.Prospective observational clinical study.A tertiary neonatal and paediatric intensive care unit for paediatric cardiology.Neonates ...
