Characterization of hdpe/ha Composites Treated with Titanate and Zirconate Coupling Agents
Macromolecular Symposia, 2007AbstractThe development of new materials for bone substitution has been of great interest for the scientific community in the last years. High‐density polyethylene (HDPE) and hydroxyapatite (HA) composites have been used in biomedical applications without any inflammatory response. However, the differences in nature of both materials have motivated the

Polymers for Advanced Technologies, 2020
Modified intumescent flame retardants (MIFRs) and polysiloxane (APID) have been used in combination to enhance the flame retardancy of polypropylene (PP). The IFR system was composed of melamine (MEL), ammonium polyphosphate (APP) and pentaerythritol (PER).

In order to improve dispersiveness of nanosilica in polymer matrix, surface organo-modification of nanosilica is necessary. This work reveals silica nanoparticles modified by titanate coupling agent isopropyltri (dioctylphosphate) titanate (KR12) in toluene solvent. Effect of reaction temperature, reaction time and reactant ratio on grafting efficiency

Titanates and zircoaluminates as coupling agents for dental cements.
The International journal of prosthodontics, 1993This study attempted to bond glass-ionomer and zinc phosphate cements to a dental ceramic with the aid of a coupling agent and appropriate surface preparation. Four luting agents were shear tested after thermocycling: a glass-ionomer cement with three titanate coupling agents, three zircoaluminate coupling agents, and a silane coupling agent; a light ...

Photoacoustic study of the interaction of a titanate coupling agent with calcium carbonate
Colloids and Surfaces, 1985Abstract Photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS) was used to study the interaction between a titanate coupling agent and CaCO3, and revealed the existence of chemical bonding. Interestingly, this interaction was found to take place beneath the surface of the CaCO3 particles rather than on the surface.

Improving Water Stability of Granite-Asphalt Interface by Adding Titanate Ester Coupling Agent
International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2009, 2009Titanate ester coupling agent (TECA) is compatible with not only inorganic materials but also compatible with organic ones. In this study, in order to improve the granite-asphalt interface water stability, the interface was modified by TECA. Experiments prove that TECA can effectively improve the interface performances of granite aggregates.

Effect of titanate coupling agent on the mechanical properties of clay‐filled polybutadiene rubber
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2004AbstractClays belong to an economic class of fillers, which are used extensively in rubbers and plastics. Being nonreinforcing in nature, there are limitations upon its use. If the properties of filler are modified, it will get a higher value as a filler. To achieve this modification of surface properties is one of the avenues. In the present work, the

[Properties of titanium dioxide-polymer composite with titanate coupling agents].
Shika zairyo, kikai = Journal of the Japanese Society for Dental Materials and Devices, 1991Titanium dioxide-polymethacrylate composites were prepared with triethyleneglycol dimethacrylate (TEGDMA), 1,6-bis(methacryloxy-2-ethoxycarbonylamino)-2,4,4-trimeth ylexane (UDMA) and rutile structure titanium dioxide. The coupling agents used were isopropyldimethacrylisostearoyl titanate (KR7), isopropyltri (dioctylphosphate) titanate (KR12) and 4 ...
