Biomimetic synthesis of titania nanoparticles induced by protamine
Dalton Transactions, 2008Protamine, a kind of cationic protein extracted from sperm nuclei, was employed for the first time in vitro to induce the formation of a titania/protamine nanoparticle composite from a water-stable titanium precursor, titanium(IV) bis(ammonium lactato) dihydroxide (Ti-BALDH).

Ethylene glycol-assisted coating of titania on nanoparticles
Dalton Transactions, 2016Ethylene glycol can complex with titanium alkoxide to yield a chelated and stabilized titanium glycolate species that can be used as an excellent precursor for coating nanoscale colloidal objects. The titanium glycolate coating can be converted to crystalline TiO 2 either through high ...

Controlled Deposition of Gold Nanoparticles on Titania Support
Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2016In our research, the commercial TiO2 (Degussa P25) was modified with gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) by reduction reaction with trisodium citrate. A remarkable influence of pH on particle size, size distribution and dispersion of Au on TiO2 support was observed. The size of Au NPs on TiO2 surface decreased with increase in the pH of the precursor solution.

Mechanism of Formation of Faceted Titania Nanoparticles from Anodized Titania Nanotubes
The Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 2015Though researchers worldwide have attempted to fabricate faceted titania nanoparticles with a higher fraction of {001} facets, which have high surface energy, the approaches have focused on use of either a very aggressive heating schedule or highly corrosive chemicals like HF.

Effect of annealing temperature on titania nanoparticles
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2014Titania polycrystalline samples are prepared by using sol-gel route hydrolyzing a alkoxide titanium precursor under acidic conditions. The as prepared samples are treated with different calcination temperatures. The anatase phase of titania forms when treated below 600°C, above that temperature the anatase phase tends to transform into the rutile phase

Deposition of Titania Nanoparticles on Spherical Silica
Journal of Sol-Gel Science and Technology, 2003Titania coated silica nanoparticles were prepared through a sol-gel process using peptized TiO2 nano-sols. The TiO2 sols were obtained by peptization, the process of redispersing a coagulated colloid, and were coated on SiO2 particles by the control of the weight ratio of TiO2/SiO2 and the pH of the mixture in aqueous solution. At pH 4.5 the difference

Functionalized titania nanoparticles for mercury scavenging
J. Mater. Chem., 2007Mesoporous films based on crystalline TiO2 nanoparticles functionalized with a ruthenium dye are used as efficient mercury [Hg(II)] scavengers. Mercury scavenging from aqueous solutions at room temperature was monitored both optically and by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-AES). In both cases, the scavenging was observed to

Preparation of nanoporous titania spherical nanoparticles
Journal of Solid State Chemistry, 2013Abstract Preparation of nanoporous titania particles from well-defined titania–octadecylamine (titania–ODA) hybrid spherical particles with 450 nm in size, which were prepared by the method reported previously (Chem. Commun., 2009, pp. 6851–6853 [39] ; RSC Adv., 2012, vol. 2, pp. 1343–1349 [40] ), was studied.

Polymer microspheres stabilized by titania nanoparticles
Materials Letters, 2006Abstract Polymer microspheres stabilized by titania nanoparticles were synthesized using a two-step Pickering emulsion polymerization process, in which nanosized titania nanoparticles were used as solid emulsifiers and building blocks. It gives a simple but novel route for the fabrication of functional inorganic/polymer hybrid materials with ...
