Titanium Carbide Formation wity Titanium Hydride

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Society of Powder and Powder Metallurgy, 1968
Raw material (5.5μ) and crushed (1.2μ) powders of titanium hydride were mixed with graphite powder and heated at temperatures up to 1600°C in vacuum (10-5 Torr).Particle size was the only factor governing the rate of carbide formation, provided that the reaction is thermodynamically favorable.

Oxidation of cubic complex carbides (Ti xVyMoz)C synthesis by electrospark dispersion method with atmospheric oxygen [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
During the joint electrospark dispersion of titanium with VyMoz alloys in hexane, complex carbides (TixVyMoz)C with a cubic lattice are formed. Assuming that complex carbides (TixVyMoz)C as quasi-binary systems, where complex carbide (VyMoz)C with a ...

Titanium carbide – Titanium boride composites by self propagating high temperature synthesis approach: Influence of zirconia additives on the mechanical properties

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
This work presents the fabrication of high-dense titanium carbide – titanium boride (TiC-TiB2) composites by self-propagating high temperature synthesis (SHS) under-load methodology. The influence of particle size of boron carbide (B4C) and the amount of

Enhancing CoFe Catalysts with V2CTX MXene‐Derived Materials for Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MXene dervied CoFe composites show increased initial Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) activity compared to the pure CoFe and MXene in an Anion Exchange Membrane device. Vanadium vacancies in the MXene plays a role in increased OER activity and hinders Fe leaching in the AEM device over using the pure V2C MXene as a support material for the CoFe ...
