Aluminum and nitride coatings are used in industry because they are hard, resist wear, and protect against oxidation. Adding boron can improve friction behavior and other properties. This study tests coatings on surfaces with different finishes. Results show smoother surfaces perform better, while rough ones wear faster, although coatings can reduce ...

Determination of geometry of cutting tool for smallsize machining of parts made of titanium alloys [PDF]
Requirements for the quality of manufacturing implants made of titanium alloys used in medicine are quite high. At the same time existing processing methods in their manufacture do not always provide the required quality of the treated surfaces ...

Feasibility of Nitrogen as a Carrier Gas for Inconel Cold Spray in Hydropower Application
N2, despite being nearly two orders of magnitude cheaper than He, is a feasible carrier gas for cold spray Inconel coatings in hydropower repair applications when higher gas temperature and pressure are used. Reducing powder size significantly improved cavitation resistance, while the addition of fine chromium carbide particles further enhanced erosion

The Preparation of Titanium Carbide.

Titanium Suboxides Responsible for Electronic Anomaly Near Room Temperature in the Ti3C2Tx MXene
Our multi‐technique study reveals that the near‐room‐temperature anomaly in Ti3C2Tx MXene is linked to titanium suboxide nanodomains, including Ti3O5, embedded within the MXene host. Their temperature‐driven transformation provides an alternative explanation to solvent‐ and swelling‐based models and offers new insight into the thermally activated ...
