Antithrombin titer in acute pancreatitis
The American Journal of Medicine, 1952Abstract The antithrombin titer for acute pancreatitis was markedly elevated in fifty of fifty-five proven cases of acute pancreatitis. In 97 per cent of a control series of 304 patients with acute surgical abdominal diseases the antithrombin titer was normal.

Protein a chromatography at high titers
Biotechnology and Bioengineering, 2013ABSTRACTThe large increase in antibody titers over the past two decades has created significant challenges for downstream processes; however, there have been no quantitative studies of the effect of feed concentration on the dynamic binding capacity in Protein A chromatography.

Determination of Alphaviral Titers: Figure 1.
Cold Spring Harbor Protocols, 2012The alphaviruses Semliki Forest virus and Sindbis virus have been used frequently as expression vectors in vitro and in vivo. Usually, these systems consist of replication-deficient vectors that require a helper vector for packaging of recombinant particles. Replication-proficient vectors have also been engineered.

Antibody titers in rabbits immunized with glucagon conjugated to albumin using difluorodinitrobenzene rose rapidly. Under conditions of immunoassay, less than 2 nl of serum from two of four animals and approximately 4 nl from the other two was required to bind 50% of the 10 pg of [125I]iodoglucagon 100 days after immunization.

Antibody Titers in Lupus Erythematosus
Annals of Internal Medicine, 1972Excerpt To the editor: Dr. Ziff's otherwise excellent review of "Viruses and Connective Tissue Diseases" in the December issue errs in one respect.

This chapter describes the steps that need to be followed to titer and plate phage. When bacterial cells are grown in top agar, they form a cloudy lawn of cells at confluence. When a phage is added to that lawn of plating cells, a phage near a cell would infects that cell, eventually lysing the infected cell.

To the Editor.— Definitive diagnosis of typhoid fever rests upon isolation of Salmonella typhosa. Pending results of isolation procedures, preliminary serology tests are widely used; the Widal reaction being the preferred test. 1,2,3 Despite difficulty with the interpretation of the Widal reaction, it is generally thought that a significant O antigen ...

Regulation of the Juvenile Hormone Titer
Annual Review of Entomology, 1981Juvenile hormone (JH) is produced by the corpora allata (CA) of insects. It regulates development and reproduction and also plays a crucial role in polymorphism. These functions have been amply reviewed (13, 21, 23, 29, 30, 112, 141). However, little information is available on the mechanisms of these effects, mainly because of the difficulty in ...

Massive transfusion of low‐titer cold‐stored O‐positive whole blood in a civilian trauma setting
Transfusion, 2018Based on the improved outcomes achieved with fresh whole blood in cases of military trauma as well as with 1:1:1 transfusion strategies for massive traumatic hemorrhage in civilian settings, there has been resurgent interest in using whole blood for ...

Estimation of hemagglutination-inhibition titers
Archives of Virology, 1975In the hemagglutination-inhibition test, simple relationships exist between units of hemagglutinating virus and hemagglutination-inhibition antibody titers. Equations have worked out which allow estimating antibody titers for different virus doses, provided all other parameters are kept constant.
