Chemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.5‐Substituted 2‐(naphthalen‐2‐yl)‐4H‐chromen‐4‐ones are reported as a novel class of highly potent and selective triplex DNA ligands. These ligands induce triplex formation at submicromolar concentrations and inhibit enzymatic activity via ligand‐mediated triplex formation.

Chemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.Total syntheses of agelamadin F and (±)‐tauroacidin A were achieved by sodium chlorite (NaClO2)‐mediated oxidative C─N coupling. Nine C15–N–amino acid‐substituted oroidin derivatives were successfully prepared to demonstrate the applicability and versatility of this oxidative coupling reaction.

Synthesis and Optical Properties of Diboron Complexes of 1,4‐Anthraquinone Derivatives
Chemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.1,4‐Diboron complexes exhibit near‐infrared fluorescence, in contrast to non‐emissive 1,5‐diboron analogues. Fluorescence quantum yields decrease with increasing electron‐donating substituents, attributed to enhanced nonradiative decay via intramolecular PeT.

Chemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.A sustainable route to photoresponsive molecular systems is achieved using the bio‐based flavanone (‐)‐isolonchocarpin from Tephrosia vogelii. Through McMurry homocoupling and light‐driven 6‐π‐electrocyclization, an overcrowded alkene and a fluorescent O‐heterocyclic phenanthrene are synthesized.
