A Scalable and Resource‐Saving Synthesis of Dipyrromethanes and Tetrapyrroles via Geminal Diethers: Minimal Polymer Formation and Facile Purification

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 7, 1 April 2026.
Geminal dimethoxyethers react with pyrrolic nucleophiles in an efficient and clean reaction under anhydrous, mild conditions, which contrasts with the reactivity of the respective carbonyl compounds. Polymerization is effectively inhibited, providing access to dipyrromethanes, porphyrins, and calix[4]pyrroles that are easily purified.

Preventive Management of Cannibalism by Size‐Grading in Juvenile Red‐Spotted Grouper (Epinephelus akaara)

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 6, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to quantify the cannibal‐prey size relationship using morphometric regression models and to establish an effective size‐grading strategy to prevent cannibalism. A total of 15,000 juveniles at 73 days post‐hatching (DPH) were reared in a circular tank (approximately 12 tons) operated under a flow‐through seawater system at 26.0

Inter‐and Intramolecular (4+3) Cycloadditions With Epoxy Allylsilanes as Dienophiles

open access: yesChemistry – An Asian Journal, Volume 21, Issue 7, 14 April 2026.
Methylenated cycloheptanoids are synthesized by formal (4+3) cycloadditions of dienes with epoxy allylsilanes as dienophiles in the presence of catalytic amounts of TESOTf. Intermolecular and intramolecular (4+3) cycloadditions with dienes including furans, cyclopentadiene, pyrroles, thiophenes, and benzenes proceeded to provide polycyclic adducts in ...

Contrasting Global and Patient‐Specific Regression Models via a Neural Network Representation

open access: yesBiometrical Journal, Volume 68, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT When developing clinical prediction models, it can be challenging to balance between global models that are valid for all patients and personalized models tailored to individuals or potentially unknown subgroups. To aid such decisions, we propose a diagnostic tool for contrasting global regression models and patient‐specific (local) regression

Synthesis of p‐Coumarates With Potential Anti‐Alzheimer's Action: Enzyme Inhibition and In Silico Studies

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a fatal neurodegenerative disorder that affects cognition, memory, and behavior. Such a disease is considered the most common cause of dementia and affects a large portion of the elderly population worldwide. Currently, cholinesterase inhibitors are used to reduce the symptoms and rate of progression of this disease.
