Knowledge of key variables driving the top of the atmosphere (TOA) radiance over a vegetated surface is an important step to derive biophysical variables from TOA radiance data, e.g., as observed by an optical satellite.

Interference and Multipath Resilient ToA Estimation
We present a computationally-efficient algorithm for time-of-arrival (ToA) estimation that is robust under multipath propagation and strong interference. Our algorithm leverages multiple receive antennas to combine adaptive spatial filtering with autodifferentiation in order to super-resolve the tap of the first-arriving path at low computational ...

Abstract Tropical ocean evaporation is the dominant source of moisture for global precipitation. However, the dependence of evaporation‐temperature sensitivity on ocean surface radiative properties has not been quantified in the fully coupled modeling framework.

Super Warm Early Eocene Simulations With HadGEM3‐GC31‐LL
Abstract The early Eocene Climatic Optimum (EECO; 53.3–49.1 million years ago) represents the period of greatest sustained warmth in the Cenozoic (last 66 million years), with proxy‐data indicating global‐mean temperatures 10–16°C above preindustrial and atmospheric CO2 ${\text{CO}}_{2}$ concentrations of 1,200–2,500 ppmv.

Diminished Radiative Cooling With Northward Wildfire Advance in the East Siberian Boreal Region
Abstract Intensification of the Siberian wildfire regime is characterized by large increases in burned area above the Arctic Circle. Wildfire in boreal forests typically reduces albedo in the decades following fire, resulting in a net cooling effect. Here we quantified changes in albedo and the accompanying radiative forcing associated with a northward

Dataset of Pathloss and ToA Radio Maps With Localization Application [PDF]
In this article, we present a collection of radio map datasets in dense urban setting, which we generated and made publicly available. The datasets include simulated pathloss/received signal strength (RSS) and time of arrival (ToA) radio maps over a ...

ABSTRACT Background Neurotoxicity is a rare, often dose‐limiting adverse effect of methotrexate (MTX) therapy that disproportionally affects Latino children. Factors contributing to the observed disparity are not well understood. This study leveraged admixture mapping to identify genetic regions associated with MTX‐related neurotoxicity susceptibility ...

Addressing stationarity violations in double‐observer drone surveys: A koala case study
Independent drone observers survey the same area with a temporal offset. Movement between passes violates stationarity, causing re‐detections of the same individual to be misclassified as independent observations and inflating abundance estimates. Incorporating movement information using a hidden Markov model links plausible re‐detections and reduces ...
