Pulsar navigation using time of arrival (TOA) and time differential TOA (TDTOA)
Acta Astronautica, 2018Abstract Pulsar navigation is a novel autonomous navigation method for deep-space missions. The pulsar navigation method using the time of arrival (TOA) determines the absolute position of the spacecraft. However, its accuracy is greatly affected by system errors, including the ephemeris error of the pulsar and the satellite-borne clock error.

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2008
This paper investigates time of arrival estimation via impulse radio ultra-wideband technology. A dense multipath channel is assumed and frequency-selective propagation effects are taken into account that make the individual received pulses different in shape from the transmitted monocycles.

Scatterer Distribution Based on TOA/AOA and TOA/AOD
Journal of Convergence Information Technology, 2012Abstract A data driven technique, bivariate kernel density estimator, is used to deduce the scatterer distribution in order to extract the true scatterer distribution in real mobile environment. Under the assumption of single reflection of signal, the TOA /AOA and TOA /AOD measurements are used to obtain the unknown position of the scatterers by means ...

Comparing Geo-Location Bounds for TOA, TDOA, and Round-Trip Toa
2007 IEEE 18th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2007Development of future geo-location systems requires an understanding of the fundamental limits imposed by system parameters such as bandwidth, SNR, number of sensors, etc. Additionally, the system designer can choose among several existing location techniques, such as time-of-arrival (TOA), time-difference-of-arrival (TDOA), and round-trip time-of ...
