SPECTROSCOPIC DIAGNOSTICS OF TOKAMAKS

open access: yesLe Journal de Physique Colloques, 1988
AbstractImpurities being an important concern in tokamaks, spectroscopy plays a key role in their understanding. Techniques for the evaluation of concentrations, power losses and transport properties are surveyed, and a few developments are outlined.

Off-target gradient-driven flows in 3D simulations of ADITYA-Upgrade tokamak scrape-off layer plasma transport

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
Coupled plasma-neutral transport simulations are performed on ADITYA-Upgrade tokamak scrape-off layer (SOL) plasma, where flows in the core and SOL were measured to reverse signs with density variation.

Implementation study of cost-effective verification for Pietrzak's VDF in Ethereum smart contract

open access: yesBlockchain: Research and Applications
Verifiable delay function (VDF) is a cryptographic concept that ensures a minimum delay before output through sequential processing, which is resistant to parallel computing.

Thermophysical properties and expansion anisotropy of sintered hafnium hydride compacts

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy
Thermophysical properties are reported on ε-HfH2 samples fabricated by powder metallurgy. Samples were heat treated in the range 300–550 °C to transform them from ε-HfH2 to δ-HfH1.6-x, allowing comparison of the properties of both phases.

CRATOS-GS: A free-boundary, hierarchical adaptive mesh refinement Grad–Shafranov solver

open access: yesAIP Advances
We present CRATOS-GS, a free-boundary hierarchical adaptive mesh refinement (AMR) Grad–Shafranov solver, discretized on Cartesian meshes. The solver is suitable for stand-alone equilibrium calculations, as a foundational component of reduced modeling ...

Machine learning prediction of plasma behavior from discharge configurations on WEST

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
Accurately predicting plasma behavior based on discharge configurations is essential for the safe and efficient operation of tokamak experiments. While physics-based integrated modeling codes provide valuable insights, their high computational cost ...
