Unravelling the Secret of Sulfur Confinement and High Sulfur Utilization in Hybrid Sulfur‐Carbons

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Thermal condensation of inverse vulcanized sulfur‐carbon hybrids enables a bottom‐up sulfur confinement strategy, in which a protective carbon phase is progressively constructed around sulfur species. The resulting carbon nanodomains covalently tether sulfur chains and stabilize radical intermediates. This integrated architecture effectively suppresses

Spousal Risk Preferences and Household Investment Decisions [PDF]

open access: yes
Most adults are married, plan for retirement with their spouse, and pool assets to a significant degree. How then are each individual’s risk preferences combined in choosing the portfolio that represents for them the optimal tradeoff between risk and ...

Bidirectional Process Prediction in the Laser‐Induced‐Graphene Production Using Blackbox Deep Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study shows that a lightweight blackbox neural network provides a practical, cost‐effective solution for bidirectional process prediction in laser‐induced graphene (LIG) fabrication. Achieving high predictive performance with minimal overhead, the approach democratizes machine learning (ML) for resource‐limited environments.

Peer-Allocated Instant Response (PAIR): Computational Allocation of Peer Tutors in Learning Communities [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper proposes a computational model for the allocation of fleeting peer tutors in a community of learners: a student\'s call for support is evaluated by the model in order to allocate the most appropriate peer tutor.

Optimal Energy Allocation for Wireless Communications with Energy Harvesting Constraints

open access: yes, 2012
We consider the use of energy harvesters, in place of conventional batteries with fixed energy storage, for point-to-point wireless communications. In addition to the challenge of transmitting in a channel with time selective fading, energy harvesters ...
