Spectroelectrochemistry of electrochromic poly(o–toluidine) and poly(m-toluidine) films

J. Mater. Chem., 1995
Visible-range absorption spectra of poly(o-toluidine) and poly(m-toluidine) films on tin-doped indium(III) oxide-coated optically transparent electrodes as a function of applied potential are reported. Absorption maxima and redox potentials shift from values found for polyaniline due to the lower conjugation length in poly(toluidine)s.

ChemInform Abstract: Toluidine Isomerization by HZSM‐5.

ChemInform, 1988
The isomerization of alkylaromatics has been widely studied. Early investigations with homogeneous catalysts, for example, metal halide-hydrogen halide complexes in aromatic solvents, established that the major reaction pathway utilized a series of 1,2-alkyl shifts.

NIR vibrational overtone spectra of toluidines—evidence for steric and electronic effects in o-toluidine

Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, 2004
The near infrared vibrational overtone absorption spectra of liquid phase toluidines are reported. The analysis of the observed CH and NH local mode mechanical frequency values shows that there exists steric and electronic interaction between the amino and methyl groups in o-toluidine.

Preparation, Characterization and Corrosion Evaluation of Poly(o-toluidine), Poly(m-Toluidine), and Poly(p-Toluidine) Blended with Waterborne Polyurethane

JOM, 2018
In this study, poly-toluene isomers, such as poly(o-toluidine), poly(m-toluidine), and poly(p-toluidine), (abbreviated as POT, PMT, and PPT, respectively), were investigated for the corrosion protection of mild steel in 3.5% NaCl. The polymers were prepared by chemical oxidation and characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, UV–visible ...

Preparation of deuterated toluidines and xylidines

Journal of Labelled Compounds and Radiopharmaceuticals, 1978
AbstractDeuteration in definite positions of the aromatic ring system or in the side chain of different methyl anilines is achieved in D2O under different conditions: at 150°C and pH 3 deuteration occurs in ortho/para positions; whereas at 250°C and pH 3 a total deuteration of the aromatic system takes place (overall deuteration 82–99%). Perdeuteration

Effect of norharman on the mutagenicity of toluidine metabolites

Toxicology Letters, 1989
Among the different metabolites of o-toluidine only the nitroso and hydroxylamino derivatives were found to be very potent frameshift mutagens in the presence of the co-mutagen norharman and S9. In the absence of norharman and S9 they are only base pair mutagens.

ADSORPTION OF ANILINE AND TOLUIDINES ON MONTMORILLONITE

Soil Science, 1994
Bentonite clay liners are commonly employed to mitigate the movement of contaminants from waste disposal sites. In order to assess the ability of clay liner material to restrict the mobility of amine compounds under a variety of chemical conditions and to further elucidate amine adsorption characteristics, the adsorption of aniline and o-, m-, and p ...

Melting and freezing of p-toluidine

Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 1957
Abstract Studies have been made of the melting and freezing of near-perfect platelets of p -toluidine. It has been shown that a perfect face of a p -toluidine platelet can be heated appreciably above its melting point in contact with its own melt without detectably melting.
