Long Term High‐Salt Diet Induces Cognitive Impairments via Down‐Regulating SHANK1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study identifies a novel mechanistic link between long‐term HS diet and cognitive impairment, wherein PKA/CREB axis inactivation leads to SHANK1 reduction, synaptic damage, and cognitive deficits. Abstract High‐salt (HS) diet is an established risk factor for cognitive impairment, but the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.

Preparation and characterization of new and novel Poly-o-Toluidine Sn(II) silicotungstate ternary nanocomposite and its environment application as indicator electrode

open access: yesJournal of Saudi Chemical Society, 2021
Advanced poly(O-Toluidine) Sn(II) silicotungstate (POTSn(II)SiO2WO3) ternary nanocomposite synthesized by the extremely well-known simple sol–gel method. We have selected a low-cost o-toluidine monomer initiator and abundantly available metal of divalent

Identification of Schwann Cells in Human Intracranial Arteries: Potential Regulatory Role in Atherosclerotic Plaque Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schwann cells may facilitate intracranial plaque progression via neurovascular remodelingcting with vascular smooth muscle cells in atherosclerotic plaques, with the SPP1 ‐ ITGB1 signaling axis mediating this interaction as a novel mechanism. Abstract Intracranial atherosclerosis (ICAS), a common cause of ischemic stroke, remains a therapeutic ...

Mechanochemistry‐Driven Borrowing Hydrogen Processes for Ru‐Catalyzed N‐Alkylation: A Pathway to Enhanced Sustainability and Efficiency

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
This work pioneers a solvent‐free mechanochemical borrowing hydrogen (BH) strategy for the rapid and efficient N‐alkylation of amines and heterocycles. By removing harsh conditions and toxic reagents while employing a simple Ru catalyst, this approach redefines BH as a cleaner, more versatile, and sustainable platform for synthetic chemistry.

Gas Bubbles from Biodegradable Magnesium Implants Convey Mechanical Cues and Promote Immune Cell Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bubbles in soft tissue are the unavoidable consequence of magnesium implant degradation in patients, yet their biological significance remains unclear. Using advanced imaging and spatial transcriptomics, this study reveals a pronounced inflammatory and mechanical response near bubbles, contrasting with pro‐regenerative events closer to the implant ...

Tailoring Tubular Supramolecular Polymers with Polar Lumens to Host Hydrophilic Dye Molecules

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A unique class of tubular polymer structures that are soluble in apolar organic solvents but are endowed with polar pores has been created through the rational design of the monomer units, which self‐assemble in amphiphilic cyclic entities that then stack into tubular architectures. These tailored assemblies are able to selectively host hydrophilic dye

Unraveling Tissue‐Specific Fatty Acid Biosynthesis and Inter‐Tissue Crosstalk in Mice through Stable‐Isotope Tracing Metabolomics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Biosynthesis rates of 13 FFAs are quantitatively calculated in 15 tissues from glucose and an analytical framework to quantitatively calculate inter‐tissue communications of fatty acids between the liver and other tissues is developed. Moreover, the approach is extended to aging condition and a system‐wide decline of fatty acid synthesis in peripheral ...

Radical Reactivity of Thioimidates for Diversified Polymeric Amidines with Tunable Properties

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Thioimidates serve as a synthetic branch point for other functional groups but are relatively unexplored in radical and polymer chemistry. This study marks the first investigation of thioimidate radical chemistry and subsequent elaboration into diverse polymeric amidines.
