Targeting ROCK1/YAP1 Axis Ameliorates Inflammation‐Induced Prostatic Hyperplasia via Stabilising SIRT1‐Dependent Mitochondrial Dynamics

open access: yesCell Proliferation, Volume 59, Issue 2, February 2026.
Prostate‐specific YAP1 overexpression induces pathological BPH phenogenesis. Targeting ROCK1/YAP1 with fasudil and verteporfin alleviates inflammatory BPH lesions. YAP1 orchestrates mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress via suppressing SIRT1 function.

Combined Neuroprotective Effects of N,N‐Dimethyltryptamine and Ventral Root Reimplantation Following Spinal Root Avulsion in Rats

open access: yesJournal of Neurochemistry, Volume 170, Issue 2, February 2026.
The ventral root avulsion (VRA) model provides an excellent experimental paradigm for studying injuries at the Central/Peripheral Nervous Systems (CNS/PNS) interface. By physically disconnecting motoneurons (MNs) from the spinal cord surface, VRA induces profound cellular, molecular, and functional deficits with limited spontaneous recovery.

Tooth–bone attachment tissue is produced by cells with a mixture of odontoblastic and osteoblastic features in reptiles

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 248, Issue 2, Page 251-268, February 2026.
Tooth attachment in vertebrates ranges from ligament‐based anchorage in mammals to direct fusion in many reptiles. In the veiled chameleon, we identified a transient cell population—termed ankyloblasts—at the tooth‐bone interface. These cells exhibit both odontoblast‐ and osteoblast‐like features.

Thylakoids reorganization enables driving photosynthesis under far‐red light in the microalga Nannochloropsis gaditana

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 249, Issue 4, Page 1785-1799, February 2026.
Summary Oxygenic photosynthesis is driven by visible light in most photosynthetic organisms, with exceptions in a few cyanobacteria and microalgae species, which can extend the light absorption to far‐red (FR) wavelengths, by synthesizing new pigments or shifting the antennae absorption range beyond 700 nm.

BF2 Complexes of N‐arylated 1‐amino‐anthraquinone, ‐xanthone, ‐thioxanthone, and Related Compounds: Synthesis and Properties

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 2, January 16, 2026.
Syntheses of BF2 complexes of 1‐(arylamino)anthraquinones and related compounds are developed and their properties studied. The physical properties of anthraquinones can be modulated by the introduction of arylamino groups next to the carbonyl function.

Acrolein Promotes Retinal Inflammation Through Macrophage Chemotaxis by Inducing CCL2 Production From Müller Cells

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 1, 15 January 2026.
Patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy show elevated vitreous levels of the acrolein adduct FDP‐lys and CCL2. In rat Müller glial cells (TR‐MUL5), acrolein increases Ccl2 gene expression and CCL2 secretion and promotes macrophage migration.
