Toluidine blue staining of murine mast cells and quantitation by a novel, automated image analysis method using whole slide skin images

Journal of Histotechnology, 2021
Mast cells are immune cells of myeloid lineage, characterized by the presence of cytoplasmic granules. These cells play a significant role in multiple pathologies, such as urticaria and type 1 hypersensitivity reactions. Mast cells in tissue sections can

Synthesis of seleno-toluidine blue

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 1974

Toluidine Blue in Diagnosis of Cancer of the Larynx

Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1970
In the larynx it is frequently difficult to identify carcinoma in situ, early infiltrating carcinoma, and the exact margins of an established carcinoma. It has been found that the use of toluidine blue as a supravital stain during direct laryngoscopy is a reliable adjunct to the early and precise diagnosis of carcinoma of the larynx.

The Hypocalcaemic Effect of Toluidine Blue in Sheep

Zentralblatt für Veterinärmedizin Reihe A, 2010
Summary Intravenous injection of toluidine blue, a heparin antagonist, at a dose of 10 mg/kg. caused a decrease of serum calcium in lambs but not in adult ewes. The levels of inorganic phosphorus and magnesium were not changed. The hypocalcaemic effect of the dye was completely inhibited by heparin. Heparin and toluidine blue probably compete on the

TOLUIDINE BLUE IN BLEEDING ASSOCIATED WITH THROMBOPENIA

Journal of the American Medical Association, 1949
The use of toluidine blue or protamine as an aid in controlling the general tendency to bleed in thrombocytopenia has been suggested by Allen and his co-workers. 1 An anticoagulant, indistinguishable from heparin, was found in the blood of dogs that had hemorrhagic tendencies after prolonged exposure to roentgen rays.
