First Report of Tomato spotted wilt virus on Tomatoes in Lebanon

open access: yesPlant Disease, 2006
During the spring and summer of 2004, an epidemic of Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV) (genus Tospovirus, family Bunyaviridae) was observed in an isolated tomato field at an elevation of 1,000 m in Lebanon. Symptoms were characteristic of TSWV (2). Seedlings came from a nursery in the coastal area of Byblos. In the spring of 2005, TSWV-like symptoms (2)

Engineering the 3′‐UTR of Tobacco Vein Mottling Virus to Confer Cross‐Protection Against Potyviruses

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 27, Issue 5, May 2026.
The 3′‐untranslated region (3′‐UTR) and its secondary structure of virus genomic RNA of tobacco vein mottling virus (TVMV) are important in symptoms attenuation, which can be engineered for cross‐protection against further viral infection. We provide experimental evidence that supports the roles of 3′‐UTR in potyvirus infection.

Natural incidence of tomato viruses in the North of Iran

open access: yesPhytopathologia Mediterranea, 2012
A survey was conducted in Qazvin province in the North of Iran, to determine the incidence of tomato viruses including: Tobacco mosaic virus (TMV), Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV), Tomato chlorotic spot virus (TCSV), Tomato bushy stunt virus (TBSV),

Cucumber Mosaic Virus Coat Protein Sequesters Host CDPK7‐Like Into Phase‐Separated Condensates to Promote Viral Infection

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 27, Issue 5, May 2026.
This study reveals a tripartite pesticide–pathogen–host interaction in which the host kinase CDPK7‐like in Nicotiana benthamiana interacts with cucumber mosaic virus coat protein (CMV CP) to form LLPS‐driven condensates that facilitate viral infection.

Host List of Plants Susceptible to Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus (TSWV) [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV)-infected plant hosts in vegetable-growing regions play an important role in the epidemiology of the disease. Susceptible hosts are commonly found growing along field borders and among crops of Hawaii's major vegetable ...

WRKY Transcription Factors: Integral Regulators of Defence Responses to Biotic Stress in Crops

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 5, Page 2939-2955, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Crops are continually challenged by biotic stresses, including fungal, bacterial and viral pathogens and insect pests, which cause substantial yield and quality losses worldwide. WRKY transcription factors constitute a plant‐specific and functionally diverse family that is central to immune regulation.

Population structure and association mapping to detect QTL controlling tomato spotted wilt virus resistance in cultivated peanuts

open access: yesCrop Journal, 2018
Tomato spotted wilt (TSW) is a serious virus disease of peanut in the United States. Breeding for TSWV resistance would be facilitated by the implementation of marker-assisted selection in breeding programs; however, genes associated with resistance have
