Positron emission tomography/computed tomography surveillance in patients with Hodgkin lymphoma in first remission has a low positive predictive value and high costs

open access: yesHaematologica, 2012
Background The value of performing post-therapy routine surveillance imaging in patients with Hodgkin lymphoma is controversial. This study evaluates the utility of positron emission tomography/computed tomography using 2-[18F]fluoro-2-deoxyglucose for ...

Role of 11C-Methionine PET/CT in 99mTc-Sestamibi-Negative Parathyroid Adenoma: A Case Report

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2021
We report a case of 16-year-old female primary hyperparathyroidism patient who underwent cervical ultrasonography and 99mTc-sestamibi single photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography, both of which were negative for parathyroid adenoma ...

On the data dependent filtration techniques in the single-photon emission computed tomography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We develop space variant data dependent filtration techniques for single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) data modeled as the 2D attenuated ray transform with Poisson noise.

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Splenosis Mimicking Peritoneal Seeding of Advanced Colon Cancer Can Be Identified by Spleen SPECT/CT and FDG PET/CT

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2021
This case report demonstrates that Tc-99m labeled heat-damaged red blood cell single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (spleen SPECT/CT) and F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/CT (FDG PET/CT) could noninvasively ...

Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography-Computed Tomography (SPECT-CT) Use in Osteosarcoma with Lung Uptake [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A 15-year-old patient with osteosarcoma of left distal femur underwent a bone scan with Tc-99m hydroxymethylenediphosphonate (HDP). Whole body bone scan revealed extensive bone and thoracic metastases.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
