A QCIF 145dB imager for focal plane processor chips using a tone mapping technique in standard 0.35μm CMOS technology [PDF]
This paper presents a QCIF HDR imager where visual information is simultaneously captured and adaptively compressed by means of an in-pixel tone mapping scheme [1]. The tone mapping curve (TMC) is calculated from a nonlinear histogram of the previous

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Unsupervised Deep Single-Image Intrinsic Decomposition using Illumination-Varying Image Sequences
Machine learning based Single Image Intrinsic Decomposition (SIID) methods decompose a captured scene into its albedo and shading images by using the knowledge of a large set of known and realistic ground truth decompositions.

Performance Analysis of the Revisited Tone Mapped Quality Index for Tone Mapped HDR Images Evaluation [PDF]
This paper discusses the appropriate choice of the Tone Mapped Quality Index (TMQI) parameters. The TMQI metric has been developed to evaluate and compare the visual quality of the Tone Mapped (TM) High Dynamic Range (HDR) images. However, the parameters of this metric have been adjusted on a specific and reduced set of Tone Mapping Operators (TMO) and

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Adaptive color adjustment method based on HDR image
In order to solve the problem of color distortion caused by ignoring color components in the process of traditional tone mapping inprocessing HDR images,an adaptive color adjustment method is presented. In the method, firstly the image is compressed by ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
