Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

A Display-Adaptive Pipeline for Dynamic Range Expansion of Standard Dynamic Range Video Content

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Recent advancements in high dynamic range (HDR) display technology have significantly enhanced the contrast ratios and peak brightness of modern displays. In the coming years, it is expected that HDR televisions capable of delivering significantly higher

Application of EREP imagery to fracture-related mine safety hazards and environmental problems in mining [PDF]

open access: yes
The author has identified the following significant results. All Skylab 2 imagery received to date has been analyzed manually and data related to fracture analysis and mined land inventories has been summarized on map-overlays.

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Reconstructing High Dynamic Range Image from a Single Low Dynamic Range Image Using Histogram Learning

open access: yesApplied Sciences
High dynamic range imaging is an important field in computer vision. Compared with general low dynamic range (LDR) images, high dynamic range (HDR) images represent a larger luminance range, making the images closer to the real scene.

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Single-Exposure HDR Image Translation via Synthetic Wide-Band Characteristics Reflected Image Training

open access: yesMathematics
High dynamic range (HDR) tone mapping techniques have been widely studied to effectively represent the broad dynamic range of real-world scenes. However, generating an HDR image from multiple low dynamic range (LDR) images captured at different exposure ...

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

Image Visibility Enhancement Under Inclement Weather with an Intensified Generative Training Set

open access: yesMathematics
Image-to-image translation inputs an image and transforms it into a new image. Deep learning-based image translation requires numerous training data to prevent overfitting; therefore, this study proposes a method to secure training data efficiently by ...
