On the propagation of atmospheric Lamb waves induced by the 2022 Hunga Tonga volcanic eruption

Abstract The powerful blast from the Hunga Tonga submarine volcano in the southern Pacific during violent eruption on 15 January 2022 radiated shock waves into the atmosphere, generating air pressure pulses that circled the Earth. The dominant part of the pressure pulses was known as a Lamb wave, with which we were concerned.
