A Higher-Order Formula of Path Interval for Tool-Path Generation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Automation Technology, 2011
This paper presents a novel fourth-order formula for determining path intervals and comprehensively considers path interval formulas. In tool-path generation, a path interval is generally formulated as a scallopheight polynomial. Controlling scallop height in mechanical machining improves surface roughness or machining efficiency.

Effects of Tool Plunging Path on the Welded Joint Properties of Pinless Friction Stir Spot Welding

open access: yesLubricants, 2023
Four tool plunging paths including a one-time plunging path and three step-by-step plunging paths were designed to study the effects of the tool plunging path on the welded joint properties of pinless friction stir spot welding (PFSSW).

How to Deploy a Wire with a Robotic Platform: Learning from Human Visual Demonstrations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, we address the problem of deploying a wire along a specific path selected by an unskilled user. The robot has to learn the selected path and pass a wire through the peg table by using the same tool. The main contribution regards the hybrid

Influence of motion error of feed drive systems onto machined surface generated by ball end mill

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2014
Although glitches due to motion error of the feed drive systems are typically observed on the machined surface, the relationships between the motion error and glitches are not investigated up to now.

Tool Path Optimization for Complex Cavity Milling Based on Reinforcement Learning Approach

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
In the machining of parts, tool paths for complex cavity milling often have different generation options, as opposed to simple machining features. The different tool path generation options influence the machining time and cost of the part during the ...

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
