Proximity of the Mandibular Canal to the Tooth Apex
Journal of Endodontics, 2011Knowledge of the inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) position is important in avoiding nerve damage during invasive dental procedures. Because the exact position of the nerve bundle can vary in patients, this study evaluated the distance from the apices of mandibular premolar and molar teeth to the superior border of the mandibular canal.Cone-beam computed ...

The relationship of the apical foramen to the anatomic apex of the tooth root
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, and Oral Pathology, 1972Abstract Eight hundred and seventy-seven teeth were examined to determine the frequency, direction, and distance of deviation of the major formen from the anatomic root apex. The frequency of deviation averaged 92.4 per cent, depending on the class of tooth examined.

The number and size of axons at the apex of the cat's canine tooth
The Anatomical Record, 1983AbstractUsing electron microscopy and morphometric analysis the number and size of axons entering the apex of the cat's mandibular canine tooth have been measured. The total number of axons varied from 761 to 1,903 between different animals but the maximum difference between right and left sides of the same animal was 353. From 56 to 79.6% of the axons
